Things could not have gotten worse. That is the least one can say about the function that was held to felicitate the Chief Minister. The organizers would certainly have not thought of such a bad scenario even in their nightmares. But then it all boiled down to one big mess. We will be seeing the recorded version of this event very soon on television. One thing is for sure, all that distasteful footage, if any of that was caught on camera, will be deftly edited and what we get to see will be the ‘perfect’ function. Many of you might have already read about or come to know about some of the discordant notes that were struck on a day that was supposed to be very sweet to begin with.
Seating Capacity – 8000, Invitations distributed - 15000 Let us put it this way, the organizers of the function either suffered from lack of time or cooperation from other quarters. How else can one explain the fact that around 15000 invitations were given out for the function when the venue had a maximum capacity of only 8000. The number of invitations is nearly double the capacity. The organizers will have a lot of answering to do in the days to come. VIPs vs general public They also seem to have forgotten to earmark different entrances for VIPs and general public. There was a stampede at the mouth of the entrance which was supposed to be exclusively for VIPs. Either the VIPs have lost their senses or the people at the entrance were not VIPs. The stampede resulted in the police closing down the VIP entrance and wait for the CM’s convoy to arrive. This meant that many of the VIPs carrying valid invitations were left standing outside waiting for their turn. Some of the stars who were stranded outside were Madhavan, Srikanth, Prabhu and Ramkumar. CM felicitation They were lucky to be able to make their way inside after a 10 minute wait. However some of the lesser lights like Vishal, Vikranth and Rajesh had to leave in disappointment. CM felicitation Trisha waits…Prabhu Deva leaves… The woes of the stars who made their way into the venue were not over. Seats were not available and many of the big names were seen standing through the event. Madhavan could not find a seat and after standing around for an hour left the venue. The less patient likes of Prabhu Deva and Ravichandran left even before the function began. Trisha, in spite of her striking good looks had to keep standing for 30 minutes before she could sit and her mother had to be satisfied with a seat in the back rows along with the general public. Balu Mahendra’s walk-out and Namitha’s scary moments The police too seemed to have lost a bit of their discretion amidst the confusion. They were seen refusing entry to many of the towering figures of the industry. Balu Mahendra is perhaps the best example; he walked away from the entrance after a policeman refused to let him in. Namitha endured a few scary moments when there was a big crowd around the car. Eventually it was Abbas (organizer) who came to the rescue (some good work at last). Police also reportedly manhandled female lyricist Thaamarai when she wanted to be let in. CM felicitation Hope that such incidents do not recur, especially on days that are supposed to be celebrations of good work done. Hope that organizers count the number of seats before handing out invitations. Hope that police is given a lesson on film personalities and general courtesy and first aid. |

Okay......so this means that Kamal shows a lot of respect to MK and not JJ.....this is interesting news to me.....I was thinking otherwise....that Kamal is very humble and has respect for everybody........ is this respect because MK came to the Victory Celebrations of Kamal's film and he was given the title Kalaignani.....I was thinking MK tilts towards Rajini and not Kamal......this is something not understandable to me..... I was always under the impression that MK has a soft corner for Rajini and not Kamal.... |

what kuthatam you are talking about...it wasn't kuthatam....kuthatams can be of decent ones also....but this one was pure skin show which doesn't gel with the Tamil culture (which MK has high regards)....and if you had seen there were lots of AANGILAM......so for this he wants AANGILAM and doesn't want the show to be a pure TAMIZH.....hmmm god knows.... but I saw the program for some 15 minutes in between main to listen what Kamal and Rajini spoke......I couldn't understand what Kamal and Rajini were speaking...they are famous for their double entendres.....they were aiming at somebody indirectly this is what I understood...but whom???? why do you require this...they could have spoken highly of MK's achievements in TAMIZH cinema rather than speaking of those short term memory loss (indirectly politicking) and Rajini also speaking of something...again politicking......what is this.... I also saw the JJ pgm....there also all these stars were wagging their tongues out and praising JJ.... this shows the political scenario in TN..... if anybody comes to power....these tamil stars need to bow down to JJ or MK....what cheap things are happening..... AGAIN I ADMIRE YOUR STRONG AND STEADY MIND AJITH....NEVER STOOP TO THE LEVELS BY WHICH THE OTHER STARS HAVE DONE.... I KNOW YOU WON'T...OTHERWISE....I WILL HAVE TO ADMIRE ONLY YOUR ACTING SKILLS in VAALI, KAADHAL KOTTAI, KAADHAL MANNAN, VILLAIN, ASAI, DHEENA.... I ADMIRE YOUR STRONG CHARACTER.....NEVER LEAVE IT.... |

But I think, it is not the mistake of Karunanidhi for these 'Kuththaattam' songs and dances. The organisers should know how to honour a eldest political leader and shound arrange by the way of some cutural folk and Barathanatyam dances. They should not arrange these kind of dances for this fuction, thinking same like Filmfare award function. It is not the mistake of Karunanidhi.
I am very much disappointed not to see veteran actors like SSR, Nambiar, Balaji on stage. I am little satisfied atleast there were veterans like Manorama, Sivakumar, Ilaiyaraja. I watched JJ show also on the same day at Jaya TV, but there also same 'kuththaattam' dances. The organisers should think about the position of Chief Guests, when arranging such shows. |

This is very funny. It is because you think one can't have softcorner for both kamal and rajini together and if one have softcorner for Rajini ,can't have admiration for kamal.. . Kalainjar and kamal have softcorner with each other from the begining .Kamal used to mention many times that there are 3 people who are his teachers for his Tamil knowledge ,those are kalainjar ,Kannadasan and nadigar Thilagam .Being a Periyar follower kamal always has soft corner for kalainjar who is another periyar follower .On the other hand kalainjar also has a great admiration for kamal right from the begining .He is the one gave 'Kalaignani' title for kamal .Before VV release ,Kalainjar wanted to watch VV and I think kamal arranged for a spl preview show for kalainjar. |
