Hi All

Why dont we discuss about Common Dialogs in Tamil Cinema ?

E.g

1.ooru Kettupattu pochi.. aatha kobama irukkada..

2...., appathan aatha manasu kulirum..

3.Mr ...you are under arrest...(with same police music as backround)

4. A rich father will say "Ava nenachatha adayama vida maata. Enna panrathu thaayilla ponuungrathalae china vayasula irunthey avala rumba chellama valarthuten"

5. Avarthan ennada friend, philosopher , guide ellame

6.the word "madippitchai" is only used in tamil cinema

After saying this, the doctor & the assistants will take the stretcher onto the operation room & the patient's relatives will run along with the stretcher

As the stretcher goes inside the operation room.....

WHILE EVERYONE WILL GO EASILY INSIDE, THE PATIENT's relative will not be allowed .

There will be shots showing that ECG in some high speed with parallel lines going on a graph

and that oxygen baloon blowing , patient's breathlessness & the operating crew's anxiety . One support staff giving a big KATHIRIKOL to the Chief Doctor

And even while the operation is in progress, one nurse will hurriedly come out & will be chased by the relative - AVARUKKU ONNUM AAGALAYE . PIZACHUDUVARA

for this , there will be no response at all from that nurse & she will quickly go back to the room.

WHY

After all the struggle, the Doctor comes out finally with a pale face

Now the relative : Doctor operation enaachu sollunga pls

Doctor : Operation success anaaa .... a gap here

Doctor : Avarudaya kaala edukka vendiyadha pochu. We cant help it & he will move away from the scene

tamil villains irresistable mannerisms:

1. "Dei Kabaali" or "Dei Mayaandi" This has been succeeded by more sophisticated callouts like a simple "Dai, avana pideengada"

2.The villain can never kill the hero immediately after he is captured. Always he has to describe all of his evil plans, all the crimes that he has commited so far, as if he is asking for paava mannippu . And even if he decides to kill the hero, he wont kill straight away. He would design a convoluted killing mechanism to give enough time for the hero to devise some escape plans.

3.When the heroine is kidnapped, the marriage ceremony will always be a lavish ceremony which will give hero ample time to come and rescue his sweet heart.

4. If the villain has any sexy chick as his side-kick, she will invariably help hero towards the climax, and most probably she will die but before that she will give some invaluable tips to the hero.

Had a good laugh.

Someone mentioned Major saying, "Sattatin pidiyilurnthu..." That line took place Gnana Oli. Since then, every other cop or lawyer or judge used that line.

Another variation of doctor lines:

"Inimey Avan/Andavan/Kadavul/Murugan-taan paartukuppaar!" I mean, who employed this jerk?

Or, if it involves mother delivering child:

Doctor: "Congratulations, unakku An kozhantha poranthirukkuthu! (emotion changes) Anaaa..."
Hero: Anaaa?
Doctor: Ungga wife pozhaikilaa.

Who employed this jerk??????

No wonder Velu Naicker almost beat up a doctor in Nayagan.

How about line that gives intro to heroes.

"Intha aniyaayatta tatti keekkurathukku aalee illayaa?" cut to theme music and heroes foot, torso and face....

Or in romance movies:

Heroines friend/sister/mother/etc: Unakku definite-ah yenngeeyaavathu orutta poranthiruppaaan" Cut to hero, blah, blah, blah.

Villains instruction to his henchmen.

Olden days
"Avanai teeerttukattirunggaa!" Best delivery award: M.N. Nambiar

Later
"Avanai close-pannidungga" Best Delivery award: Vinu Chakravarthi

These days

"?" Since I don't watch that many new movies.

Of course, who can ever forget henchmen's only ever line for many decades.

"Yes, boss" Best delivery award: Ramdass. (Later, the award was almost wrestled by Sathyaraj, but he quickly became lead villain)

When the herione vommits , even a small child can understand what the reason is but our hero the main reason for this doesn't understand the cause for vommiting.

When the heroine is kidnapped by villian, the heroine will always say "enna vidu ...enna vidu" and she always makes a very soft punch on the back of villian though there are several ways to fight with villian(like she can attack eyes ,ears ..etc of villian)

Damn! You can write a book about the cliche's/stereotypes.

Lets stick to the dialogues (the topic of the thread).

One of the reason I stopped watching new movies in the 90s was, almost every young hero has this line:

"Dey, Kaathal-na ennaanu theriyuma?"

Usually Prashant. Usually the friends around him will consist at least Vaiyapuri and Thaamu.

Nakkeera, you don't have to be an MGR fan (I am now an ex-fan) to know that.

Even Hollywood follows that path. MGR was probably inspired by those films.

Anyway, on to more dialogues.

After serious discussion on some evil plots / or unfavourable plans, the villain always asks hero/ heroes dad/ cops / etc

"Appa un mudivutaaan yenna?" Knowing well the hero is going to say no. Award goes to MNN.

This one is not funny.

NT, when threatening heroines, comedians, or whoever not evil will always say, "Palla udacchiduveen" or "Palla kalutiruveen" Always about knocking teeth.

4.sundar C --A family song, his hereoine name is "indhu" always

5.crazy mohan -- heroibe name is always janaki

6.Vikraman ---laala...lala..laala ..laala Same BGM in his all movies with help of SARajkumar

Now-a-days in tamil cinema..hero will be a Datha or Rowdy....he meet a villan and both of them shout looking each other as "Aeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" I think most of the films having this dialogue

Our ears gettin pain watching those scene...I really dont know when tamil cinema going to get out from Rowdy films

Hello old friend. Well to be honest with you, work got in the way. Now that I have transferred to another department, I have easier access, and more time, for an occasional hub visit.
