VENNILA KABADI KUZHU - MOVIE REVIEW
Starring: Saranya Mohan, Vishnu, Kishore.
Direction: Susindhran
Music: V. Selvaganesh
Production: K. Anand Chakravarthy.
The success of sports based films like Lagaan, Chak De in Hindi and Chennai 28 in Tamil must have prompted the debutant director Susindran to embark upon a similar subject in Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu. However this time around, the crew has taken Kabadi as the central theme with a poetically titled team with many fresh faces on and off screen.
The setting of the story is a village near Pazhani. A small boy in the village is deeply interested in Kabadi and will not step into school before playing at least a single game. His interest in the game is such that sometimes he misses even his meals. As luck would have it, his father dies in a freak accident and he is forced to work in the farmlands dropping his studies.
As a youngster also he (hero Vishnu) is not able to pursue his interest of playing Kabadi but is resigned to looking after the clothes of the boy’s team when they play the game. This team from village has an infamous reputation of never having won a single game in any tournament.
In an unexpected event, in a Kabbadi match in a village thiruvizha, Vishnu is given a chance to play as a substitute for a boy and his potential comes to the fore which coach Kishore does not fail to recognize. An unsure decision on whether he is out of the game or not triggers a big brawl and the teenagers are reprimanded by their parents. Meanwhile love blossoms between Vishnu and Saranya Mohan who comes to visit the village carnival.
Later on, the team goes to Madurai to participate in a Kabadi match but is not allowed to do so as there are professional teams vying for the title. In an unexpected turn of events, Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu is made to par take in the match and the ensuing fast paced forty five minutes compensate for the sagging slow moving film in the first half.
Debutant Vishnu (son of IG of Police- North Zone Ramesh Kudawla) has done his part satisfactorily. Saranya Mohan reveals that she is an experienced star after all compared to her fellow artists.
Some of the sequences in the village carnival like the uriyadi, cycle racing and parotta devouring are lively. Climax is deliberately shot differently. Debutant music composer Selva Ganesh, son of Ghatam maestro Vikku Vinayakram sparkles in a few numbers. Camera work by J Laxman Kumar meets the requirements. All in all, a different attempt but they should have taken adequate care to narrate it more interestingly.
Go for it, for it’s second half.
Verdict: Bronze medal!
2 1/2 STARS

Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu - Candid, charismatic and convincing
All hope is not lost in Kollywood! At a time when the theatre-going audience has dwindled and a general criticism prevails that quality has taken a beating in Tamil cinema, 'Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu' has come a whiff of fresh air.
There is no bad mouthing villains and no crass comedy or needless romantic duets. Debutant director Susindhran has consciously avoided all clichéd commercial elements, yet managed to render an engrossing entertainer. But, the movie has abundant human emotions in it.
A refreshing and a different film, 'Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu' lives up to the title, dwelling upon a group of friends for whom the valorous sport of kabbadi is everything in their life. Susindhran's engrossing screenplay coupled with pacy narration works out all the wonders. Glorifying the victory of underdogs never failed to appease the masses.
Seemingly inspired by the success of films like Bollywood's 'Lagaan', 'Chak de India' and Tamil flicks 'Chennai 600028' and 'Lee' that were made around sports, Susindhran has churned out a film which is all about kabbadi, a hugely popular sport in rural Tamilnadu.
Every character in the film but for the kabbadi coach played by Kishore is new and hence provides a fresh feel for the audience. As an inspirational coach he reminds one of a similar role played by Shahrukh Khan in 'Chak De India'. He oozes charm and elegance in the role as a kabbadi coach. A dignified portrayal by him wins the heart of the film-buffs at the first go.
Not far behind is Vishnu, the newcomer. He fits the role like a 'T' thanks to his innocent and the boy-next-door-looks. As Marimuthu he brings out on screen the emotions of a caring son, a yearning lover and a determined sportsman. The cute-looking Saranya Mohan as Vishnu's ladylove is adequate for the role. Clad in Pavadai and Thavani, she does a breezy role. A convincing cameo by her is praiseworthy.
A host of other characters including newcomers Vairavan, Nithish, Sundar, Appu Kutti, Suri and Pandi does have a role to play in the film and they resemble the youngsters we see every day in rustic villages.
The movie has threadbare storyline. In a nutshell, it is the triumph of a group of young men, who are considered the 'regular' losers in kabbadi by people in their own backyard. Touted as the fit for nothing bunch, these men go on to win accolades to their acquaintance with a skilled coach.
The entire story unfolds in a remote village near Madurai. What begins as a soft romance between a poor young boy Marimuthu (Vishnu) and a young girl (Saranya Mohan), who comes to the village soon takes a turn. Marimuthu along with his childhood friends Ayyappan (Vairavan), Sekar (Nithish), Murthy (Sundar), Appu Kuttu (Appu Kutty) and Pandi (Pandi) yearn and crave to win a kabbadi tournament. Their Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu is popular for they never managed to win a tournament.
They manage to find themselves by chance in a State-level tournament where they are considered to bow out in the very first round. But the bunch of young men, who share different thoughts and ideas, with the help of Souda Muthu (Kishore), a professional kabbadi coach, emerge winner. But the story doesn't end here for there are more surprises that are thrown for the audience.
The highlight of the movie is debutant music composer V Selvaganesh's (son of Ghatam exponent Vikku Vinayakaram) melodious music and background score. Especially, the pacy re-recording during the kabbadi match sets up all the momentum.
Equally appealing is the art work by G C Anandhan. An able craftsman, he has created the rural village well before our eyes. Especially, the grand décor in 'thiruvizha' scenes is amazing. The soft lens of J Laxman and crispy dialogues by Baskar Sakthi brings before our eyes the innocence that prevails in the daily life in villages.
K Anand Chakravarthy, the young producer, can walk proudly for he has rendered a movie that is entertaining from the word go, sans any glamour or double entendre.
On the whole, 'Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu' is a movie that is different from commercial clichés ushering hope and confidence in Tamil cinema.

Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu is a winner
Movies centering on sports are considered pretty risky propositions in Tamil, but Imagine Creations Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu (Vennila Kabaddi Team) have actually managed to break several moulds to bring alive the colourful yet troubled lives of seven earnest kabaddi players, on screen. The riveting screenplay is supposedly based on a true story.
The opening credits are in themselves interesting with crowds of players and artists filling up a window on the screen; there are so many of them that it's mind-boggling, almost. And in fact, the whole village of Kanakkanpatti, down in the Pazhani district, has gone to town, putting up a convincing and heartening display of rural Tamil Nadu.
Our heroes number seven, the principal of them being K Marimuthu (Vishnu [Images]), a gangly, scruffy lad who loses his father at a young age, and is put to work as a goat-herd to the village's landlord. The others comprise Sekar, a rather well-to-do mill-owner's son; Appukkuti, a bedraggled tea-stall owner as well as others from various walks of life. What unites all these young lads right from the time they were all scraggy school-boys is a game -- kabaddi.
Of course, they have never won games except against even worse losers from the village of Eruma Nayakkanpatti but even that proves a disaster as they hire pros to beat our guys at the annual festival. And that's where Mari meets the heroine with no name (Saranya Mohan) for the first time. With love blossoming for the first time as they speak with their eyes, shy smiles and secret trysts, there's the spectre of kabaddi looming up, and they suffer a resounding defeat. Watching is a spectator whom they'd spurned earlier -- Savalai Muthu (Kishore) and who turns out to be a renowned kabaddi coach.
Inspired a bit by Hindi films like Lagaan [Images] and Chak De! India in turns, the movie does manage to have its own special flavour, as our boys slowly go from being under-dogs to a force to contend with.
Bhaskar Sakthi's dialogues hit the mark every time: each character barring perhaps Mari's is well-defined, with their own families, distinctive backgrounds and playing quirks. Iyappan, for example, is a remarkably loveable guy with a penchant for stuffing himself with food but looks scrawny as a lamp-post.
Director Susindran's screenplay is the real hero here: with the right (if sometimes cliched) situations, cast of characters and the inclusion of factors that really do determine kabaddi matches (it takes some gumption to highlight the caste-card, and sponsorship problems).
The first half could have done with some editing, as there's too much emphasis on the romance angle but you don't remember these minor irritants in the second half. You only wish you knew more about the technicalities of kabaddi to really appreciate the nuances.
V Selvaganesh looks like a promising music director. On the other hand, the background score isn't very impressive (though it should have been for a movie that thrives on adrenaline rush like this one).
Saranya Mohan has managed to get it a bit right after half a dozen half baked romances as the girl who falls in love without even revealing her name.
Vishnu, as the protagonist looks the part but its the rest of the cast that brings on the cheers every time. Kishore actually sets your pulse racing as the dour coach who sees the potential in a ragamuffin team. His strength and soft-heart are a delight to watch. Here's yet another artist bringing cool shades to his character.
Despite the rather deux ex machina situations that crop up now and then, their individual characters make an indelible mark. And the climax hits you with a shocker. Who knew kabaddi matches could be this fun? With its superb ensemble cast and script, Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu scores the match-point.

Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu
Even after leaving the theatre Mari's (Vishnu) 'Kabbadi kabbadi' is echoing in our ears. And the dust of the ground rising from the commotion of the game forms a ghostly screen before our eyes.
When she gets into the bus disappointed in not meeting him, we too feel like traveling with her. With so much realism, what Susindran has come up with is not cinema, but life. While everyone is groping around to find a meaning to world cinema, Susindran deserves a trophy in having reached that effortlessly.
Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu is a club run by seven friends without any caste feeling or any higher or lower disparities, in a place near Pazhani. Not having won even once is their distinction. One of the seven is Marimuthu a.k.a. Mari. Thinking of kabbadi, he would even forget to eat, but circumstances conspired to keep him out always. In his own mind, he has fallen in love with a girl who came from Madurai (Saranya) for the festivals.
Filled with romantic thoughts, Mari too gets a chance to play in the State wide tournament. The team known to be defeated every time, is about to win this tournament and the events that take place before and after the game forms the story of this moving film.
The scenes that have no resemblance to what all we have seen before leave a lasting impression in us. The director has treated everyone with equal importance without projecting someone as the hero.
The romantic episodes are treated in a way that leaves a pleasant aroma around us. The intimate scenes are examples of decency. A romance that has no place for cell phones or letters has been rendered poetically.
The activities of each of the team are so various that keep us laughing non-stop. Though we have seen scenes of a glutton among the group of friends, what is new here is having chosen a stick like person for the character.
Having eaten 50 parottas in a challenge, he was cheated by the challenger. In reply when he says that he is prepared to eat 50 parottas all over again, the clapping from the audience brings down the roof.
Appearing only in very few scenes, Kishore who arrives as an instant coach for the team has given a memorable performance. Other characters like the temporary uncle, Mari's mother, bus driver have all done excellently.
The twists and turns that take place in going to the tournament, the thrill of the game and the excitement of the result have all made 'Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu' ten times more effective than the film 'Lagaan.'
Susindran has made himself unique in making the title cards behave like kabbadi game, showing the early years of the friends in 16 mm, projecting the line "keep 10 meter distance" in the advertisement board behind the bus when Vishnu and Saranya take leave of each other and turning the same card for 10 minute interval and so on.
Baskar Sakthi's dialogues are very catchy: life begins when every moment of the game is thought to be the last; don't think of winning, think of not losing.
The faceless commentary of the festivities is treated like a character in the film. The cinematography by J Lakshman has given life to several scenes and characters such as the wound that keeps company with Mari's mother who is always lying below Mari's photograph and so on.
It becomes commonplace to appreciate the director Susindran for all the efforts. But his continued success would be his reward.
Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu: a super team

So much to write about, but space is lacking

The dream song that does not go with the story

Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu - Exciting and realistic
Cast: Vishnu, Kishore, Saranya Mohan, Vairavan, Nithish and many others Director: Susindran
Music: V. Selvaganesh Cinematography: J. Lakshman
It is only very rarely we come across some realistic and lively presentation of the rural life and an ethnic game like Kadabi. Debutant director Susindran’s Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu (VKK) is one such movie that has come as a fresh air amidst lot of mindless masala flicks. The movie stands out by successfully – almost for the first time in Tamil – making the game as its central theme. The low budget movie has potential to be compared with movies like lagan and Chak De India.
The story of VKK is set in a village near Pazhani. It is all about a Kabadi team (Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu), wanting to become a famous team in and around the area. The reality however, is different. This team has never won a single game in any tournament.
Mari, a small boy in the village has a deep rooted passion towards the game. Since his father dies in an accident and he is forced to stop going to school and work in the farmlands.
The boy grows working in the farmland but even in his young age (newcomer Vishnu) he is not able to pursue his interest in Kabadi because of his social status.
Mari at last gets a chance to play as a substitute for a boy in a match in the village Thiruvizha. Though he proves his worth, the game gets disrupted due to a dispute and the resultant tussle.
Meanwhile love blossoms between Mari and Saranya Mohan who visits the village carnival from Madurai.
Later on, the team goes to Madurai to participate in a Kabadi tournament unaware of the format that doesn’t allow any new team to participate. However they get a chance by luck, as a team fails to turn up. In the process they also get a godfather in Kishore, who is a renowned Kabadi coach.
Vennila team, motivated by Kishore, wins their first match in a dramatic manner and stays in the tournament. Later on Kishore becomes their coach. He trains and motivates them is to reach the finals.
Meanwhile the team members face dangerous situations on and off the field from the rival teams even as the old foes are hunting the team members to kill them. The rival team also tries to divide them on the basis of caste. The rest of the movie deals with how they finally triumph and what the price is given to that. It also tells about the fate of the love between Mari and Saranya.
Debutant director Susindran has done an excellent job by capturing the true spirit of Kabadi and the dramatic moments related to the game. The picturisation of the game is strikingly realistic, which is a rare phenomenon in Tamil movies. The exciting developments in the tournament are conceived and executed well. The role of the coach has been portrayed and enacted very well. The exciting run up to the finale takes the movie to another level. The dramatic climax, though lees convincing, is touching.
Bhaskar Shakthi’s dialogues are sharp and effective. The ones uttered by the coach are outstanding. J. Lakshman’s camera has captured the carnival sequences and the tournament with in a telling manner.
Susindran also scores in depicting the village sequences with all its flavour and nativity. The debutant has done well in bringing out the essence and mood of the village Thiruvizha on screen. The love episode has been portrayed as a short film.
The problem with the movie is its slow pace in the first half. Though the proceedings are realistic and lively, the script takes its own time to come to the focus point.
Debutant music director V. Selvaganesh (Son of famous Ghatam player Vikku Vinayakram) has come out with some tuneful songs (Lesaa parakkuthu manasu and Uyiril etho valigal stand out) but the duet in the second half seems to be out of place.
Newcomer Vishnu (son of IG of Police- North Zone Ramesh Kudawla) has handled his role with sincerity and ease. His body language during the game is excellent and his expressions in romantic scenes are competent. Saranya Mohan, in a relatively small role, livens up the proceedings by her inimitable charm and cute expressions.
Debutant music composer Selva Ganesh, son of Ghatam maestro Vikku Vinayakram sparkles in a few numbers. Camera work by J Laxman Kumar meets the requirements.
Kishore as a coach is excellent. The man has come out with mature and majestic performance. Others including Vairvan, Nithish and Janaki (mother) are competent.
Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu is a refreshing experience revolving around the native game of Tamilnadu. The realistic portrayal, exciting tournament proceedings, and the performances make the film a potential winner.

'Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu' has replaced it sans the fact that the film didn't boast of a cast coup, slick graphics or extravagant locales. Made by a team of young debutants, without any commercialism the film is reaping accolades and is continuing its good run all over the state. In the line of 'Subramaniapuram', it has once again been proved that a good script always triumphs over gimmicks.

'Vennila…..' - a whiff of fresh air'
At a time when the global economic meltdown is threatening almost every business including big Kollywood films, here is a small film that comes across as a whiff of fresh air. Another tremendous piece of news for 'Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu' is that the film stars debutants mostly. This has rejuvenated a lot of hopes in the industry.
'The success has proved that people are ready to welcome films that do not necessarily have big stars, grand sets or foreign locations. If a story is narrated in an interesting manner, it would reach the masses well', said a prominent producer.
'Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu' was a not an experiment. Director Susindhran has narrated the story in a different manner – a tale of underdogs who have the determination to succeed. The backdrop of the film is Kabbadi and the electric feeling of fresh love. All other films that have released now are full of clichéd commercial elements that the audience are literally tired of', observed another.
No big stars, no popular names even in the technicians list, and yet the film has been successful in captivating audiences. Moreover, the film has given hopes to many youngsters who are still struggling to make a mark in Kollywood.

I am trying to block out the unbelievably stupid ending. I am sure he has an alternative ending that he will change next week when the audience insists. When that happens and no one else saw the ending I saw today, I will come back and delete this post to erase it ever happened. Now I am in heavy denial that the ending happened.
One helluva movie ! Absolutely enjoyable from start to er...near finish.
Absolutely easy characters, spontaneous humour (don't remember the last time I laughed so hard in a cast without GM) throughout the film.
One speedbreaker song, one naive villain turnaround apart the movie just excellent. What works for it is the fact that it is absolutely unpretentious, no attempts to make a great film. Just a simple, honest enjoyable one. The whole thiruvizhA sequence - if not the movie itself - is like debutante Susindran saying "
elei Sasikumaru....ippidi thaaNdi seyyaNun.."
Debutante MD Selvaganesh
Long back, I downloaded the album and deleted it after one hearing
en first impression meesic rasanai andha azhagu-la irukku. Amid mouthfuls of humble pie I say he was really good. A couple of very good songs, memorable BGM in multiple scenes.
Kishor's not bad too. Struggles a bit with the "ennadE" (TirunelvEli ?) accent, but overall things pull through fine. In fact the cast is uniformly good, the writing so fluently original and funny without trying to be.
A couple of samples:
On why they should invite a weakling local team for the home match:
"avingaLa koopiduvOmda...vandhu decent-A thOthuttu pOyiruvAinga"
Captain chiding a team-mate who is the distracted being the only responsible adult in the gang
"thozhil-la irukkura gavanam, viLayAttilayum irukkaNum dA"
I will most likely rewatch just for the laughs. I didn't catch all the audio commentary in the thiruvizhA, kabaddi matches etc. Hope the 'mend' it by then.

Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu launches straight on the net
INDIAGLITZ LAUNCHES WORLD'S FIRST VIRTUAL THEATER
[Saturday, February 07, 2009]
Make way for the world's first Virtual Movie House. Indiaglitz proudly presents onlycinema.com, the first and only one of its kind. The film that will take its rightful place in history by playing in this theater is the recently released 'Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu' that is making waves amongst Tamil movie audiences.
Patrons from across the globe (except India) can use this facility to watch brand new films as they get released. Efforts are currently on to get this facility to people residing in India as well, but then the process could take a while before it is implemented.
How does the Virtual Theater work?
Patrons can log on to onlycinema.com and visit the booking office where tickets can be purchased. A terrific advantage with this facility is that one ticket is all you need for your entire family or group of friends. The price of the ticket is $10.
You can either book your tickets for immediate watching (current booking) or book tickets for a specified time (advance booking). This Virtual Theater benefits you with the comfort of home. Patrons will definitely feel like watching the film in a theater because many norms of physically being in a theater will have to be adhered to. Patrons cannot Pause the film. There would be no interval break initially but this facility will be made available soon.
Once patrons book tickets, an email would be dispatched with a ticket number at once. Patrons will then have to type in the ticket number to gain entry into the Virtual Theater. The film will start exactly at the appointed time. (Please Note: Late comers will have to watch the film as it continues playing. So be on time).
Brand new films will be released in this Virtual Theater on a consistent basis. The Telugu film 'Manjeera' will grace this Virtual Theater soon.
This Virtual Theater by Indiaglitz is yet another example of using technology for the benefit and convenience of society.

Ramakrishna,
Oh, thanks! The small films that do get released there usually don't run for more than two or three weeks. So I thought the chances of catching it there is feeble. Now that it isn't released yet, I think it might find a release if it's generally been doing good business. Let's see.

Now what I felt about the movie
The director seems to have been inspired by Subramaniyapuram for one. (Even the ending in this case
) Many scenes reminded me of that movie
I watched the parotta scene on TV and was looking forward to see what would happen in the movie. But disappointed to know that it runs in the background. I was expecting to see the shop owner having eggs thrown at him (ie. losing his bet and giving him 100 parottas
)

I felt that the climax was not forced - it was a way of looking at things. Hope and dream are great - but life is always fatal - that is why one should have hopes and dreams - I got this message from the movie - There were quite a lot of hints and suggestions to that effect all along the way - but it is our desire to see a 'happy' movie that we keep ignoring the clues. I saw the movie, irritated at the climax - cursed suseendran and slept off only to wake up in the night thinking - 'Yes - this was what the movie was all about' and I started appreciating the earlier scenes after the climax. I dont want to elaborate more right now as it would be filled with spoilers. After 10 days I would write up detailed as to the 'Ironies of Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu'. I have not seen a more ironical tale in a long time.

Maybe if I watch the movie again I may look for 'clues' that indicate the imminent fatal end.

Beautiful film spoiled by a moronic climax. The kaNgaL iraNdAl-isque romance worked big time, the humor excellent and the acting good. And the film scores a 100/100 on characterizations. Great writing. I would be surprised if the movie is not a blockbuster. Theater was 80% full when I watched it last week (weekday night show)
SPOILERS AHEAD
After reading negative comments on the climax I thought they would lose the finals. After seeing them win it, I thought saranya would come to the thiruvizhA with a husband (and also a child perhaps). What they showed in the end was disgusting. What a fall. Completely disconnected from the film. kalloori pArthu kettu pOittAr director.

There is a Robin Williams on Broadway standup show where he mocks the French artsy types saying "Life is shreet no eet".

You don't have to be a "kiladi" to think up a stupid ending. Obviously people aren't gonna expect the main hero of feel good movie to die. It beats the whole point of the movie. The underdog coming up and winning & then dying. Its not irony. If the director did it for anything more than shock value then I really don't know what to say.

A very entertaining movie.
Is it cliched? I thought the director was brilliant in not to be bothered about being cliched, rather playing along with viewers wish and want.
And the ending? All I can say it was just unnecessary.. a little melodrama is acceptable when you are trying to portray a realistic picture, but in a feel good film, it just looks like some stuff wanting attention ... "look... I m different".
I won't think twice about watching it again! Really enjoyable.

In a bengali film, Ray composed a shot of a man looking at a mirror of his car which is cracked and sees himself. A critic, praised Ray to heavens for that shot which showed his 'split personality' or something. Ray simply responded that the mirror was broken during shooting and he had no money to replace it.
I am more than willing to accept it if the director had no such thoughts - but I am just sounding it off - probably I have lost it.

In my opinion, the climax is retarded because we are all retarded socially. Our system is so unfair that our movies are being totally unfair by churning out positive ending movies. So the movie has a classic case of a 'Pyrrhic victory' as its climax. It might not make you come out of the movie hall all 'hurray', but it has its merits. But the biggest trick of the director is in making me believe that I was watching a 'feel good' movie.

This is what the reply I tried to post in jaiganes's blog :
Nice capture of the movie’s plot and the twists and turns. Except the caste angle, I agree completely with your views. May be from the poor-rich angle, the twist in the climax to dump the poor may be director’s message. Or just that the general belief that having a tragic ending could make it easier to lift it to a classic status (remember ‘moondRam piRai’? and many others).
Other than the ending, this is similar to lagAn, in that a more important issue -other than the game- is the theme (and hence different from chak de, chennai-28). It’s the difficulties of those poor & low caste in villages (which could have possibly got redeemed thru sport).
There is also another similarity - the “one-sided-love” of the motivational female
, though nicely localized.
Obviously British and the lagAn are gone but the troubles remain in our villages, so the tragic ending is more apt

Should rather make a film on Jallikkattu, the dangerous game in which thousands get severely injured, died and still living like vegetables.
Good attempt by the director though.
I heard the moral of the story is "Sports should only be taken as sports. If taken as seriously as your life, then your life would be at stake."

Baradwaj Rangan[/url]]I actually want to do something on VKK because I liked it a lot. I wish our filmmakers would go for these “small themes” and do them well, instead of attempting grand conceits and struggling to pull them off in their entirety. On a first viewing, this wasn’t in the league of Ch-28, but I was impressed by quite a few things — yes, including the end, which many people had issues with. I thought it was built up to very well, with hints dropped along the way that something of this nature would occur. And when it did, it was pulled off very well.

Hope the 'mend' it by then.

it was a good film, the climax was ok but they could have put the reason or the cause of the hero's death woulda made the audience understand it better
