Wonderful political analyst

Rajyasabha MP also

Well known for his counter arguments and stress on the topics that is given to him

Braved even LTTE once ( there was threat to his life once ) and even now braving them ....

very knowledgeable person on religion , give any topic .

wrote lovely articles in Thuglaq a successful magazine for several years being read extensively even today

political satirist

his knowledge on epics is extensive

a multi faceted personality

Cho - a good comedian and well as a drama artist.

He directed the movie 'Mugamathu pin Thuqlaq' which is my favourite movie.

He is a gr8 Writer. His writings on politics have always been just. His writings on hinduism and religion are also very informative. They are eyeopeners in many ways regarding our practices and the greatness of our religion.

Once he wrote about Engay Brahmnan . worth reading. it talks at length about religious practices and who actually is the real Brahman

Leaving aside caste apart, its a story very well crafted by Cho

His writings in Thuglaq about Ramayanam pesugiradhu and Mahabaratham and also the recent Hindhu madha ezuchi were all wonderful.
whatever he writes, he does his homework thoroughly before writing !

His dramas are also very good.. The dramas always advise, comment, expose and tickle and tease only to correct but never to hurt anyone.

"Judgement Reserved" is about a sensational court case, exposing the crass hypocrisy and opportunism of the elite segments.

"Nermai Urangum Neram" bares the sorry state of democracy in India and how wheeling-dealing passes off as politics. It was conceived in the mid-70s and staged several times within the country. Its theme remains enduring.

"Sambhavami Yuge Yuge" was a first of its kind for its bold comments on politics. It caricatures contemporary society with such vividness that every situation, every character and every dialogue uttered are familiar and relevant even today. It was first staged in the sixties.

In "Saathiram Sonnathillai," Cho makes a strong social statement against caste divisions.

Through Mohd bin tuglaq he beautifully summarises how an ordinary man changes once he becomes big . one having tasted power will yield to it. you cant come out of it. rather you wish to die by it.

rami thanks. only one shortcoming about Cho in my opinion. he has been a good critic . not come out with constructive solutions

I saw his arguments in NDTV on Indian politics face to face and it was astonishing ! he gives on the spot responses like a flash !

Cho is Rajya sabha MP . he himself admitted several times that he is unable to contribute much as everyone is being given very little time ( few minutes ) to express their thoughts and issues.
its a very lengthy process actually. one has to apply to the Speaker who vets the papers and alots the time for the member to present his thoughts

Mohammed Bin Tughlaq, is another political satire. Two friends decide to play a joke on society by pretending that they are Mohammed Bin Tughlaq and Ibn Batuta, telling the story that they had been mistaken for dead, and had survived their entombment all these centuries with the help of some herb.

The idea is to teach the country about the corruption and double-standards in political life. Tughlaq forms a party, contests the elections and is elected. He is arbitrary and whimsical. The power goes to his head and he becomes power crazy. When his friend, who is pretending to be Ibn Batuta, suggests they call off the joke because it has gone too far, Tughlaq says he does not know what he is talking about. When Ibn Batuta begins going around trying to tell people that he and Tughlaq are ordinary people, Tughlaq ensures that the crowds jeer at him and dismiss him as a madman. The message is that the country cannot improve unless its people do.
