this film is very good for a tamil movie........ lets shut the door for craps like thirupathi, pacha kuthira and give a big thumbs up for thiruthu payale....

Thiruttu Payalae is a movie with a different storyline coupled with a good screenplay and excellent acting especially from Jeevan and Malavika.

Susi Ganesan seems to have a penchant for creative storylines and direction....kudos to him for providing a enterprising movie.

KV Anand is currently handling cinematrography for Sivaji...he hinted he might direct a movie again but will decide on that after Sivaji.

The first statement of this thread sounds ironic. During the february period, an unknown silent small movie managed to beat Aadhi and Paramasivan. Of course the movie is Chiteram Paesuthadi.

Is this phenomenon repeating itself???

Thiruttu Payalae doing better than Tirupathi....

I know Tirupathi is leading...but many articles say that Thiruttu Payalea is starting to lead the box office. Though I am not sure whether to believe it.

this movie may do very well soon. We all know what a flop Chiteram Paesuthadi was at first..

Is Thirutu Payalae REALLY a good one ??

Watched it. The storyline is different no doubt. But, for me - it was
just another of those forgetable Tamil movies. So much hype but so
little to praise about.

I still think that Susi Ganesan's Five Star was REAL good. Wonderful story line. Amongst one of my newbie favourites.

The only thing that I loved in Thirutu Payalae was the song, Thayyatha by Sadhana Sargam ...

Yet another film that has been making waves just by good word of mouth publicity. Without the backing of film clippings on satellite channels. The film that revolves around the central theme of extra marital affair and blackmail, is now the talk of the town. And may well emerge as the number one box office hit among Tamil New Year releases. A racy script, twists and turns that don�t confuse the audience, no vulgarity, and the right cast are the major pluses of the film. Obviously, director Susi Ganesan is pleased as punch that the film is doing quite well in all centres.

Kaaka Kaaka Jeevan has rendered a great performance. Sonia Agarwal is the main lead and Malavika plays a central character in the film. In an attempt to stay close to reality, the director has cast real �villagers� as the hero�s friends. Speaking to the media, he said the film has proved that good movies can be made on a reasonable or low budget, provided it is backed by an interesting and racy storyline.

I havent seen this movie yet ... But they're sayin this movie is getting popular just with word-of-mouth sans any publicity ... And even goin to the extent of callin it No. 1 among the New Year Releases ... That really should mean something !!!

i think TP was made on low budget..so if it runs well it 'll make good money...so it's a big hit...

but thirupathi is reasonably a big budget film compared to thiruu payalae...

so no surprise if they say TP's no 1. and media love these kind of relationships film..so they give more important to these small budget films..

but at the moment thirupathi leads anyway and it's hit...

Just finished watching this movie.Not bad.It was pretty interesting all along.They could have avoided a few songs and the comedy track though.In such tight thriller kinda movies I dont appreciate a comedian coming in to disturb us from the important stuff.Vivek was not esp good and the songs could have been better.
Major pluses for the movie were Jeevan and Malavika. They were pretty good.Jeevan didnt look as though he was acting and Malavika played the role of a rich lady having an affair to perfection.I didnt really appreciate the ending though I dont know how else the director could have ended the movie with a clean conscience.Overall I would say that the movie can be watched once.

Overall a sappa movie.. Innum ethana padam thaan indha binocular moolama varumnu theriyala. athuvum vodana maami eduthundu vandhu tharranga.

Is SG, LS, SR, AJM are all from the same film institute?. One line script 2 1/2 hrs movie. 600 crore ownerkkum, directorukkum kanakku kooda theriyala. australia tour 6-7 hero & friends, sonia -1,vivek 1,? persons pp,visa, airticket, hotel stay, bar,discotheque,belly dance, 50 lacks necklace, demolished household items,belgium glass, 3-4 times bulk cash ditbn ellam sertha 1.5 crore thaana. golf spot Stupid dumb... mayidha maavus. Comedy horrible! yen payyanalem eppadi volukkama valarka porennu theriyala bottle la mandaiya vodachuruvan pola irukku.

Only + is racy screenplay :

Verdict: Beware of Handy Cam's, Camera Mobiles, Sundal kaaran in beaches.

It was a pretty gd movie, entertaining if you are up for a constant racy mouse-cat chase...

IMO, Malavika was the star of the show, the scene-stealer...I felt she even overtook Jeevan...as both menacing villi, and the poor wife...

other than that, the songs were ok, Sonia didn't have much of a role, but whatever she did have, she did well...Abbas was just annoying, so was Manoj

Overall, worth a watch

Manickam (Jeevan) is sent to the city by his parents unable to put up with his arrogance. In Chennai, he comes across Roopini (Malavika), wife of a rich young entrepreneur (Manoj K Jayan). She gets attracted towards Santosh (Abbas), a friend of her husband and they develop an affair.
