Most original and most versatile of all Indian composers. (I've not heard of single copying story of this Maestro) In prolificity only beaten by IR & MSV. His most appealing song in Tamil is Kanni Raasi Un Raasi - an equivalent duet in appeal is Gangai Nadhi Oram, of I think Vijay Bhasker, whom I consider a Devarajan-SalilChoudury combined lethal composer!!!)

Listen to Mal songs like Ayalathey Janalil, Sangamam, Sundari, Padinchjaram Raavu (IR' equivalent in Chinna Mani Kuyile). My favorites movies are Aaromalluni, Ponnampuram Kotta. Believes in extremely catchy melody, unusual Charanams, and a signature humming type in charnam which nobody really could imitate - eg: Punchirichchal Poonnilavu, Raaga Deepam. People with similar approach K.Raghavan, MB Sreenivasan & Salil Choudhury whose style and compositions limited but outbeat Devarjana only in the unique harmony/chord progression element, Devarajan outwitted everyone in the rusticity and a very ancient belonging feel in the melody, only matched consistenly in quality by Dakshinamoorthy and M.K.Arjunan.

Thank you, Devarajan Mashu! Long Live, Master.
