I agree ANNIYAN had pretty much the same theme as Shankar's previous movies .... But isnt the MPD concept new to Tamil cinema ... Just imagine, if only CM wasnt released two months in advance, and if ppl hadnt known SPLIT PERSONALITY, Anniyan would have just been top-notch innovative ... In fact, didnt ANNIYAN even start rolling before CM ? Very unfortunate for Shankar I think ... |

bay Nalla aasai thaan.. If ANNIYAN released before CM, people might not have had an idea on what is MPD and all.. coz CM explained it in simple style which helped shankar in making his movie an average in tamil nadu.. that s the truth..

Exactly.. From a layman perspective, Shankar sucks big time in explaining the concept. For an average person, IT WILL BE LIKE A MAGIC In MPD, Getups, dress etc won't change. ONly the behaviour will change In CM, Jyo's role was perfect in explaining that.. A layman will understand it.. But the same person will consider ANNIYAN as "KAATHULA POO" |

Sorry to differ from you ... But I thought Shankar was really UNFORTUNATE to have had CM before Anniyan ... Cos I remember watching Anniyan in the theatre ... The scene before Intermission where Vikram gets beaten up by the bad guys, he looses his conscience, and wakes up saying "DEI B____DU, KA____TI" ... And then he stands up ... Almost everybody in the theatre was like "Oh Split Personality pa ithu" ... in a very layman's accent .... |
From: kidils on Fri Mar 3 13:31:05 2006. |
selvakumar wrote: | ||
mm.. But I heard from many people..(who watched the movie).. They were confusing it with CM role. They were not able to accept the on-the-fly transformation of vikram considering the role of Jyo in CM. Also many people could not understand the concept at all. CM explained it well. But Anniyan failed miserably in this case which lead to its average business in TN. |

Surya in Shankar’s next flick? March 27, 2006
Would you believe that Shankar saw the Surya starrer Gajini only recently? Yes, and he was all praises for Surya’s performance. The moment finished watching the flick, he rang up the hero and heaped his praises on him. Surya was pleased and expressed that he would love to work in one of Shankar’s projects. Shankar has promised that he would keep it in his mind and that it would not take long. Shankar’s Sivaji is expected to release this Deepavali. He has also promised to make a film for Venkatesh, the Telugu hero who has turned a producer now. As Surya has a good fan base both in Andhra and Tamil Nadu, maybe Shankar thinks it wise to rope this guy in for his next Telugu flick which will also be dubbed in Tamil simultaneously. Surya then has enough time to complete his Jillennu Oru Kaadhal and the much delayed Chennaiyil Oru Mazhai Kaalam. |
