favourite director-music director combination?

some directors r able to bring out the best in a particular MD.here r some of those combinations.pls tell me ur opinion.my fav director-MD combo is MR-ARR even though all the others mentioned r good as well

Though MR-ARR comes closer MR-IR is always the best, IMO

I read in an article MR want Rajiv menon to be the hero for "Roja" but he didn't agree it seems.. so end-up with aravindswamy.. anyway aravindswamy was too handsome.

but now is he suffering frm any disease

i know br-ir and mr-ir combination was good.but they havent done any movie together for so many yrs.i am not talking abt the all time best director-MD combination,but the best among the current ones.

mani ratnam-a.r.rahman is the best combo, altought MR-IR would come in a close second. ultimately i guess MR-ARR would have to win through bcos of the sheer quality of song picturisation. BTW, anyone know the reason for the MR-IR split? seems like after 'Roja' MR didn't even want to consider anyone else for his music. did he have a fallout with IR or something? or was it just an effort to encourage young talent?
