English Tanglish lyrics in tamil movies

Gone are the days when we had all most all songs with meaningful tamil lyrics. The current trend is increasingly towards tanglish(tamil + English) songs, or multilinguistic lyrics(with hindi or other language words strewn around)

Do u favour it? Do u think its a healthy trend?

My personal view on multilinguistic or tanglish lyrics ... is
OH WHO CARES..as long as the music rocks [ 3 ]
Trendz , one has to keep up with it [ 2 ]
Oh where are those rich tamil lyrics? [ 7 ]
I can relate such lyrics better than tamil lyrics !! [ 0 ]

when we live in a multi cultural world, why complain over mixed language lyrics, morewise the lyrics wouldnt sound that cool if it was just tamil. Thanglish ROCKSSSSSSSS

I believe movie is the replica of our soceity.Tell me frankly how many of us here are speaking proper tamizh(including me)..Then how can you expect senthamizh in songs and movie names....Ridiculous!

It dates back to chandrababu days, where tanglish was introduced in his lyrics to tickle the audience.

Then follows loads of songs of mgr,sivaji days

I guess I need not elaborate on 80z and 90z lyrics which made its own contribution for tanglish.

There are very few movies which had sensible fullfledged english lyrics like 'NAADODITH thendral' which justified the presence of such lyrics in the movie.

Thus, though the trend dates back to older decades, intensity has increased in later years.
