Then about Ammaiyappa muthaliyar, A typical down to earth father character... who expects the son to shoulder the family pressure along with him.. Decides to throw away the relationship.. But in the end, gives up for grandson. Might be u dont find the character great. But in my POV, its an unforgettabe character. Actually i didnt complete my list. 5. Shakti - Devarmagan - Kamal 6. Satyaraj in 'Amaidhippadai', especially the role of the corrupt politician. probably the most effortless acting performance you'll ever see. 8. Thengai Srinivasan in 'Thillu Mullu'. a classic. 9. Thengai again in 'Kaasedhan Kadavuladaa'. if this guy had done just these two films and nothing else, he would still be counted among tamil filmdom's all-time greats. 10. Rajnikanth in 'Mullum Malarum'. definitely one of his greatest acting performances. right up there with 'Dalapathi'. more later ... |
Agree with all except perhaps Thengai in 'Kaasedhan' but that's just me. Here's some of my favourites

I know she’s appeared in many films in small to medium roles playing matrons and grandmothers, but SN Lakshmi has played some memorable roles. Her Kupputhayi in Virumaandi was great. I especially liked her as Kamal’s mum-in-law in Mahanathi. She was the anchor in the family, and gave Kamal the right advice at the right times. I liked the way she kept her pride even when her financial situation and health deteriorated. PS: I have to agree with PR on Simran’s role in Kannathil M. Compared to her other glamour roles, she took on this role of a mother really well. |

I wish to mention about this. I enjoyed this movie INTOTO. The way Vijay gets along with Shivaji and SarojaDevi and brings them together. The entire pack of Manivannan were enjoyable. Even SS. Chandran was tolerable in that movie. The way he presents himself to Simran in the initial stages were all nice ones. |

svaisn's message was clear. The character was bad in the sense that he was the antagonist at first (not the stereotypical hero), and Vijay was so convincing and got rave reviews for it so he was good. I know...brain freeze...it happens to the best of us... |
