Vadivelu is in great danger of being a repetitive slap-stick comedian not even witty friend but beat up villager/servant

like Vivek for the witty dialogue but has to stay away from repeating comedy plot...love when he acts the rascal!

Why isnt Ajith one of the options.Man he can do comedy better than Vivek,Vadivelu,Koundamani,Senthil all put together.
Can there be anything funnier than him shouting "Athu "as in red or "Enna sound udra "in Ji followed by a rhtmic shake of his head accompanied by the uncontrollable dancing of his tummy

His stunts-as funny as that of Vijayakanth
And his dance height of hillarious stomach tearing comedy.He isnt dancins hes jus doin his morning exercise.Its only his stomach which his dancing.

And his so called comic interludes...huh..that turns to become serious sentiments.

Both Vivek & Vadivelu are good comedians, no doubt.

Best comedians are always one who plays subtle. I love kamal and rajnikant's comedy scenes.

Never really appreaciated anyone of recent years with their screamy voices and saddistic approach.

Comedy never exists in degrading another, or by barbarically beating them blue.

Vivek is kinda ok, unless he does not repeat his same old style.

Esp, in friends, the scene where he helplessly gets into fits of laughter, after watching vadivelu coated wtih cement, did make me LAUGH MY HEART OUT.

Kushi too had lots of scenes which did make us ATLEAST SMILE pleasantly.

i agree...heroes are better comedians too...
i like vivek comedies though...more than vadivelu...

what about some of the best hero+comedian combo?

I can think of one so far: sathyaraj + vadivelu from Englishkaran

...am sure there are so much more...

noone after kavundamani.....i liked vadivelu a bit after kavundamani era.....that too in a film he will come as cheena thana and in winner etc....only in some movies...vivek is irritating now a days.....he did a good job in some movies like minnale etc...

noone after kavundamani made a movie superhit just by the comedy....its kavundamani who made lots of movies hit by his comedy........kavundamani is best....

So what if the thread is digressing? His consistency in giving good humour NEVER DIGRESSED.

Nagesh was one among the many, who had good dialogue delivery, PLUS right body language to go with his performance(Charlie chaplin's style)

Vadivel's body language looks so great..esp in the movie "Chandramukhi" when he was talking to Rajini in that Vetayapuram Aranmanai for the first time....

"Maapalai....." ... "Maapu..." "Vachutaayana aapu"..... Class

In the same movie when Rajini says "Segappu kaai munnadi poguthu pinnadiye karuupu kaai poguthey...thappachey" Then he calls Vadivel..From that place Vadivel comes to Rajini's place...with an awesome movement....

Vadivel-Parthiban combo is also gud..but didn come up well in "Kundakka Mandakka"...

But i like one scene in that movie

Simbu, an assistant of Cheran is likely to direct this film. Vadivelu�s pair has not yet finalized. Nandhita Das might be his pair. After everything is finalized this film is expected to start off.

Winner is the film of vadivelu and he triumphed over vivek this film onward. Before winner Vivek was no. 1.

But I think, to do some type of comedies vivek is better than vadivelu. (Ex. RUN film comedy)

The comedian Vadivel who hails from Madurai is one of the renowned comedians in the present day industry. Director Shanker is exorbitant among the directors. Many producers are willing to work with Shanker. But Shanker wants to produce films on his own and currently three films are produced at a phase. Among them is Vadivel�s Imsai Arasan 23rd Pullikessi. The shooting for this film started in Prasad studio today and Vadivel is the hero. The palace setting was meticulously done at the studio for the great hero Vadivel.

Though the title has a historic touch, the film is full of comedy and Vadivel acting as 23rd Pullikessi has brought out the best in him. The others in the film are Nasser, Manorama, Nagesh and others. The memorable and the best comedians are also in it and it seems the film will be a family film with full of fun and vigour. Simbu Devan is the director of this film and he is been working as the assistant of director Cheran.

Achieving a personal landmark

Actor Vivek has achieved a personal landmark now.

He has successfully completed 150 films in Tamil film industry. His 150th, Anbae Vaa, directed by Selvabharathy, will be releasing this week-end.

A former government employee, Vivek was introduced to acting by director K Balachander. He then played miniscule roles in subsequent films for next years.

Thanks to his patience and perseverance, this comedian from Madurai, had fortune smiling at him thanks to films like Vaali and Thirunelveli in which he made a mark for himself playing a rationalist comedian, which became his identity since then.

Another comedian as hero

Close on the heels of launching Veyyil, director Shankar has commenced shooting for his next - Imsai Arasan Irupathi Moonam Pulikesi.

The movie directed by a debutant Simbu Devan, features comedian Vadivelu playing the hero for the first time.

Vadivelu, who is a busy comedian in Tamil filmdom these days, was hesitant to play the lead role.

However, he was reportedly convinced by director Shankar, who gave him the confidence to accept the role.

As the title suggests, it would be comedy caper featuring Azhagi fame Monica and Nadhitha opposite Vadivelu. Nasser, Nagesh, Sriman and Manorama are also in the cast.

Sabesh Murali would be scoring music while Arthur Wilson will handle the camera.

Simbu Devan was a cartoonist with a popular Tamil magazine before venturing to films.

The film is a giant leap for Vadivelu into the big league.

It is the 150th film of Vivek and has nothing in common with that MGR-Saroja Devi classic by the same name produced by AVM.
Anbe Vaa is a sort of a launch pad for its hero Thendral (guy looks 40 plus and has a paunch) and new girl Sreedevika. But to sell the film the makers have roped in Vivek in a parallel role as the hero�s �mama� and his mentor who has all the punch lines.

The story is about a rich heiress (Rekha) whose son is the new guy Tendral. He is a good-for-nothing guy who spends his time drinking and making merry with friends and �mama� (Vivek). In fact, it this �mama� who sorts out all his problems. Together they go to a village to see a girl under the orders of Rekha, who feels that marriage would make Tendral a responsible man.

They meet Sreedevika and it is love at first sight for Tendral and soon he gets married to her. But post-marriage, the couple starts fighting as they find that they are not compatible. Enter the �mama� who sorts out everything and unite the lovers.

Anbe Vaa depends largely on Vivek�s scintillating comedy show. His antics spice up the proceedings and the punch lines make you smile. Sreedevika is not bad for a first timer. The film drags towards the end and music of D.Imman is a big let down. On the whole, this Selvabharathy directed film is funny in parts thanks to the one-man laugh brigade called Vivek.

He was the uncrowned king of comedy not so long ago. Debilitated by health problems and changing audience taste, he was in the side wings. Adding to his woes was the totally forgettable episodes of working in Baba and Manmadhan. His long-time friend and co-star, Satyaraj however has cajoled him to come back and perform. So, Koundamani is currently working in Koottani aatchi and Suyechai MLA. We can expect a laugh riot as it was in Malabar Police with these two guys. Get going, mate!

Vivek crosses the 150 films milestone

Vivek comes from the KB stable having made his debut as the ebullient younger brother of the heroine(Suhasini) in Manadhil urudhi vendum. He continued to do small roles and keep his career in government service. It was KB again who brought him into spotlight with Pudhuppudhu Arthangal. His punch line in the movie, inikku setha nalaikku paal, started a new trend of comedy. He has not turned back ever since. He has played comedy in different forms and endeared himself with his style of articulation and tickling of hypocrisies. He has grown to be a catalyst for social consciousness in film comedy. Despite being hero material, his two films Panchu and Solli adippen with him in the lead did not see the light of day. Meanwhile, he has just completed his 150th film, Anbe vaa which was released yesterday. He plays the uncle of the hero and it is sure to be one laugh riot.

There used to be a feeling that having Vivek in a film with the leading heroes could prove a drag for the hero�s star image. Therefore, many leading heroes did not prefer to have him fearing that he would overshadow them.

The last that one could remember was Tirumalai and Sami. Then onwards, Vivek chose to work with young and newcomers with whom he was quite comfortable and his presence in the film made the proceedings enjoyable. He also concentrated on his hero vehicle, Solli adippen. Unfortunately, the film is stuck. Meanwhile, slowly Vivek is back to working with the top stars. The first film off the block would be Vijay�s Adhi and then it would be superstar�s Sivaji. As for the icing on the cake, he had been chosen for Kamal�s Dasavatharam. Therefore, we are sure that we would have another round of Vivekathon soon.

There was a misconception that Vivek pairing up with leading heroes would mar their acting careers. Thus Vivek always preferred working with new heroes. For quite some time, Vivek was not seen even with top heroines. He found himself comfortable and happy in the presence of upcoming heroes. Now Vivek is back again to pair up with top stars. He is starting with Vijay�s Aadhi, the next would be Rajini�s Sivaji. He is also requested to act in Kamal�s Dasavatharam. Vivek is back again!

After a long gap, Imsai arasan 23am Pulikesi will be a full length comedy. The sets have been created to resemble palaces, garden, king�s courts, etc. Vadivelu is the hero and he has done a good job.

Shooting for the film was held at Prasad Studios and AVM. The second schedule will be shot at Prasad for which the sets are being created. Meanwhile, Vadivelu�s tight call sheet has robbed him of the chance to act with Rajini in Sivaji. The opportunity has gone to Vivek. Vadivelu�s performance in Chandramukhi and Maja with Vikram raised expectations that he would get more films with the big stars.

undoubtedly "periya thalavali" vijay. here is the proof

Tamil movies, which have been dubbed and released in Andhra Pradesh, have been receiving good response at the box-office. The likes of Chandramukhi, Anniyan and Ghajini are few examples.

Now taking a leaf out of that,actor Vijay too has decided to test waters in Tollywood.

One of his films, which was released about three years ago, Bhagavathi, has been dubbed into Telugu. It will be released this Pongal.

It is interesting that Vijay is known to do Tamil remakes of blockbuster Telugu movies.

This time he has chosen to dub his Tamil movie in Telugu. So the roles have been released.

Meanwhile, his other successes like Tirupachi and Sivakasi are being remade in Telugu with different actors.

Vijay himself is doing Athi that is a remake of a Telugu hit.
