சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினி காந்த்தின் எந்திரன் படம் தீபாவளிக்கு விருந்து படைக்க தயாராகி விட்டது. உலகம் முழுவதும் 3000 தியேட்டர்களில் படத்தை திரையிடத் திட்டமிட்டுள்ளதாம் சன் பிக்சர்ஸ் நிறுவனம்.

சன் பிக்சர்ஸ் நிறுவனம் முதல் முறையாக நேரடியாக தயாரிக்கும் படம் ரஜினிகாந்த் , ஐஸ்வர்யா ராய் நடித்துள்ள எந்திரன். ஷங்கர் இயக்கியுள்ளார். படம் மிகப் பிரமாண்டமாக உருவாகியுள்ளதாம்.

படம் எப்போது ரிலீஸாகும் என ரஜினி ரசிகர்கள் ஆவலுடன் காத்துள்ளனர். இந்த நிலையில் பட ரிலீ்ஸ் குறித்த சில முக்கிய தகவல்கள் கிடைத்துள்ளன.

அதன்படி வருகிற தீபாவளி திருநாளுக்கு படம் திரைக்கு வருகிறது. இதுவரை படத்திற்கான செலவு ரூ.190 கோடியைத் தாண்டியுள்ளதாம்.

தமிழகத்தில் 500 தியேட்டர்களில் படத்தை திரையிடவுள்ளனர். உலகம் முழுவதும் மொத்தம் 3000 தியேட்டர்களில் எந்திரன் படம் திரையிடப்படவுள்ளதாம்.

மலேசியாவில் ஆடியோ வெளியீட்டு விழாவை பிரமாண்டமாக செய்யவுள்ளனர். மேலும், சென்னையிலும் ஆடியோ ரிலீஸ் இருக்குமாம்.

படத்திற்குப் பிரமாண்டமான எதிர்பார்ப்பு உள்ளதால் அதற்கேற்ற வகையில் விளம்பரமும் இன்ன பிறவும் இருக்கும் என தெரிகிறது.

Tamil Nadu - 300

Kerala - 100 (if there is no issue from kerala film federation)

Karnataka - 20 (it could have been a lucrative market, if they did not restrict no. of prints).

Overseas - 200 (need to explore more with subtitle)

North India - 50 (just tapped the market with SIVAJI, Hope to continue)

Telugu prints:

andhra, Karnataka, Orissa & Overseas- 400

Hindi:

North india & Overseas - 400 (No comments, wait and see)

The budget size of �Endhiran� is getting bigger and bigger as it is nearing the D-day. The magnum opus of Shankar was touted to be a 100 crore project when it was launched in 2008.

Then it was said to be 120 cores and when Sun Pictures took over the film �Endhiran� was billed as a 150 crore production. Now the new buzz is the cost of �Endhiran� has touched around 200 crores.

The other news is that �Endhiran� will be a mammoth worldwide release and the Rajinikanth starrer will also be released in China where the super star has a fan following just as in Japan. So to cater to all the markets �Endhiran� will be out in more than 2000 pints so that there is no place in the world which is not touched by the magnetism of the super star.

We had already reported that the music launch of �Endhiran� will happen in Malaysia. There will also be a music release function for the Tamil Nadu fans during the first week of August our sources say.

Vairamuthu, who has written three songs in �Endhiran� has said each and every song in the movie will be a treat to music lovers as well as movie buffs.

�Shankar is one of the filmmakers who take immense care while shooting song sequences. Equally so is A R Rahman, who gives nothing but his best to each song he composes. Their combo will rock in �Endhiran�,� he said.

Elaborating on �Endhiran� songs, he said, �I have penned three songs for the movie. One is a romantic number which describes a robot�s love for a beautiful woman, while the second throws light on the way a robot is made.�

On the third number, he said, �it is about a violent love. Revealing one of the lines, he said, �We have mixed human emotions with science in that number. One perfect example is- Vannathu poochi kaalgalaal rusi ariyum, indha kaadhal poochi kangalaal rusi ariyum.�

Strong rumours say that steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal is picking up a stake in the overseas rights of the film. But distributors are not sure when the film is going to hit the screens. Earlier, it was meant to be a Diwali release. However, now it is being said that since Oscar-winner AR Rahman is yet to finish work on the background score, the film could be delayed further.

But come what may, the film is going to be nothing short of a visual treat for the audience, with Rajinikanth and Aishwarya in action, Shankar handling the megaphone and AR Rahman scoring the music.

ENDHIRAN IN FINAL LEG

The Shankar directed Rajnikanth-Aishwarya Rai starrer Endhiran is fast wrapping up and if sources are to be believed, the film will hit the screens very soon. Recently a song was canned at the Sun Studios in Perungudi and also in a different venue at Padi, near Chennai. Endhiran, as is known to people who sincerely follow films, is a scientific fiction of sorts involving a Robot and a scientist. It is being said that there are two Rajnis- one is the scientist Rajni and the other is the robot. There are many big names associated with this project- Sun Pictures, A R Rahman, Vairamuthu, Rathnavelu to name a few.

A NEW VENUE FOR ENDHIRAN AUDIO

Kollywood is certainly evolving. Gone are the days when the audio release of a film was held in Chennai with dignitaries attending the event. It all started with Gautham Menon�s Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa when the music of the film was first released in London and subsequently in Chennai. There are many novel ways which are being introduced to make these events very memorable, thanks the influx of generation-next.

In a similar vein, the audio of the Super Star starrer Endhiran will be released in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 31st of July. Endhiran, the mega mega budget film stars Aishwarya Rai along with Rajinikanth and directed by Shankar. Music is scored by A R Rahman and Sun Pictures are producing the same.

If the budget is 180 crores then the movie has to collect close to 500 hundred crores as a total collection to make it break-even considering the fact the distribution share is approximately 50% in tamil nadu and 25% rest of tamil nadu.
If this movie makes 200 crores in tamilnadu and distributor will get 100 crores after paid to theatre owners and if it makes 300 crores outside then distributor will get 75 crores after paying taxes and theatre owners. that may be their routine salary, but shankar has put in 3 years of his career into this (double the time which he generally takes for a movie). BTW, Shankar's remuneration was 5 C way back in 2000 for the Hindi movie 'Nayak'. I dont think shankar's remuneration for Enthiran is anywhere less than 25 C. Of course Rajini's should be close to 50 C. Aish and ARR combinedly will take home around 12 C. Around 30-35 C should be production costs, CG, VFX etc. these were my estimates.

I hope you are only talking about the Tamil version. If so, then I don't see a problem this time around too, as it would specifically target tamil audiences up there.

We know whatever happened to the Hindi release of BOSS (went straight to TV I guess). May be if it (ROBOT) would click with the Hindi version (very doubtfull in my opinion even with ARR & Aish, but may fetch something below average would be my guess) it could slightly better than BOSS.

for eg: corporates pay their employees from their gross income and pay taxes on their net income. dividend is given to the investors from the post-taxation net income (profits), hence the shareholders dont need to pay a tax on that, but an employee receiving his salary must.

if at all the govt taxes two people in the supply chain for the same end product, that too to the extent of 35% each, then it is nothing short of daylight robbery

by law, the entertainment tax is paid by the viewers.. so its not double taxation on the same fellow.. its like two fellows getting taxed on the same product...

but dont you think it is the end user/customer who pays the taxes for every other product sold in this fashion, right? including tv, fridge, washing machine, cars etc. (road tax for the car is for road maintenance, it serves a specific purpose) so what makes movies so special in india so that two components of the supply chain end up paying taxes to the tune of 35% each? any idea about similar rules in the west?

the only two other products which i can think of for which the end user has to pay such ridiculous levels of taxes are cigarettes and liquor. may be, the govt sees movies also as a social evil In that case, it should obviously be accompanied by a statutory warning, right??

Hi Guys,

It will break all records don't have doubt about that.

Thalaivar is there with Shankar and Rehman and All of them coming together with a new story after very long time.. definitely it will be a treat to watch.

Here people are so worried as they do not have any info about the movie to discuss.

But I am happy that there r no news about enthiran as all the pre-release news about Boss spoiled my FDFS.

I didn't have any surprise or exitement (except sun light song) as each and every scene with dialogues came already in meadia from strory line,one rupee coin upto sivajium nanthan mjrum nanthan dialogue.

IMAX koncham kastam - its very expensive for screening unless you buy the screens in bulk thru national chains.
Single screen margin will be very less or in some cases break-even.

But I have seen couple of Telugu movies like Magadheera that was released like first 2 shows in cinema capri thatz the best they could do.

if somebody is living in a small city where not much indian population then you can distribute the movie for even couple of thousand dollars. For example in 2 tier areas like Los Angeles could cost upto 100 thousand dollars for movies like this. So you need to make sure that 8000 people watch this movie to cover the cost and theatre rent. It is a herculean task but possible for top star movies. I really do not have much idea about new england in particular about tamil/telugu population and other details. Bay Area and New jersey are quite big and could cost around 250k and 175k respectively. My guess for new england would be around 50-75 k. I could be wrong.

But Bharat Pictures they will screen movies in really abandoned lousy theatres..even in big cities with decent population for that extra 2 dollars.

ஷங்கர் ஒரே ஒரு விஷயத்தில் மட்டும் உறுதியாக இருக்கிறார். எந்திரன் ப்ரோமோ மற்றும் விளம்பரங்கள் வித்தியாசமாக இருக்கவேண்டும் என்று. அதற்காக அவரே களமிறங்கி இருக்கிறார். அதில் அவர் எடுத்திருக்கும் அடேங்கப்பா முயற்சிகள் ஒவ்வொன்றாக மெதுவாக பகிர்ந்துகொள்கிறேன். இப்போதைக்கு ட்ரைலர் பற்றி சில தகவல்கள்.

ஒரு படத்திற்கு ரிலீசுக்கு முன்பு மக்களுக்கு வெள்ளோட்டம் விடும் �ட்ரைலர்� மிக முக்கியமான ஒன்று. சிவாஜி படம் மிகப் பெரிய வெற்றி பெற்றதற்கு அதன் ட்ரைலர் பெருமளவில் உதவியது என்றால் மிகையாகாது. திரையரங்குகளில், மற்ற படங்களின் ஊடே காட்டப்பட்ட சிவாஜி ட்ரைலர் ரசிகர்களுக்கு உற்சாகத்தை தோற்றுவிக்க காரணமாக அமைந்தது. அந்த உற்சாகம் கடைசி வரை நீடித்தது.

உதாரணத்திற்கு �ஏம்மா என்னை கருப்பா� பெத்தே?� �வெள்ளையா இருந்தா அழுக்காயிடுவே பா� அதனால தான்� என்ற டயலாக்குக்கு தியேட்டரில் ட்ரைலர் ஓடும்போது கிடைத்த விசில் சத்தம் படத்தின் நூறாவது நாள் காட்சி வரை தொடர்ந்து கிடைத்தது. *கிட்டத்தட்ட ஆங்கிலப் படங்களின் ட்ரைலருக்கு இணையாக எந்திரன் ட்ரைலரில் �FAST EDITITING� முறை கையாளப்பட்டுள்ளது.

*மூன்று ட்ரைலர்கள் சுமார் இரண்டரை நிமிடங்கள் DURATION இல் தயார் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன. (சிவாஜி ட்ரைலர் 2 நிமிடங்கள் 25 செக்கண்டுகள்).

*ட்ரைலரை பார்த்தால், இது தான் கதை என்று யூகித்துவிட முடியாது. அதே சமயம் படத்தை பார்க்கும் ஆவல் பன்மடங்கு அதிகரிக்கும் என்பது மட்டும் உறுதி.

*குழந்தைகளை கவரும் சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் ஸ்டைல் மூவ்மெண்ட்டுகள் ட்ரைலரில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. அதிரடி சண்டை காட்சிகள், மற்றும் EXPLOSIONS குறித்த காட்சிகளும் ட்ரைலரில் உண்டு.

News floating today is almost confirming it. The new release date for �Endhiran� could be September 3 according to some sources in Shankar's office.

Though there is no reason given for the postponement, it may be due to the enormous number of prints that will be generated for a worldwide release. In India alone �Endhiran� is expected to strike 800 screens across the country. Japan and Chine will get 120 prints and for other global markets 160 prints are expected to fly. That means �Endhiran� will have around 1500 prints in release and that will make it one of the biggest films of the world ever.

Is it a solo number or a duet and if so who is partnering him on stage all these details are yet to be revealed.

Thakkali sreenivasan made couple of movies inspired (heavily ) from Terminator series - "Naalaya Manidhan" and "Adhisaya Manidhan" in 90s.
Before that there was a scifi movie "Kalai Raani" or "Kalai arasi" starring MGR and Bhanumathi .
Around the same time B.R.Banthulu made "Kuzhandhaigal Kanda Kudiyarasu" which had Sivaji Ganesan doing a wonderful cameo as a scientist inventing a space ship. Full fledged scifi movie like what endhiran is touted to be shaped and envisioned is an extreme rarity in thamizh films and one starring a charismatic star like Rajini only makes the film even more interesting.
