A joke:

Wife: Let’s go shopping. I want to buy a silk sari for the festival.

Husband: But Deepavali is over.

Wife: I am talking about Pongal. Only if I start now, I will be able to select a sari at least the day before Pongal.

Isn’t this an exaggeration? Our Pongal preview is also a bit like this, so please be patient!

The Pongal mega film has been finalized. It is Kamal’s ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu.’ Disappointed viewers who did not get their Deepavali bonus, can now look forward to a Pongal treat!

Gautham who made people sit up and notice in ‘Kaaka Kaaka,’ is collaborating with Kamal in this thriller. Having stayed away from commercialism, Kamal is returning to it with a vengeance. Music by Harris Jayaraj is a feast to the ears and cinematography by Ravivarman is a feast for the eyes.

‘Aadhi’ could be a competition in all ways to Kamal’s film. A super hit in Telugu, director Ramana is positive it will be so in Tamil too. When Vijay was busy with the ‘Sivakasi’ shooting, he quietly completed the scenes where Vijay was not needed.
Only the song and action scenes are remaining to be completed.

‘Idaya Thirudan’ starring Jayam Ravi and directed by Charan is due for a Pongal release.
Kamna’s youthful acting is a plus point in this colorful love story. They say Bharadwaj has delivered sizzling tunes as usual.

There are also newcomers competing among the mega stars. Directed by Mishkin, newcomers star in ‘Chithiram Pesudhadi’ due for a Pongal release. ‘Pithan’ starring Ashwathaman and Varshini could be included in this.

Simbu’s ‘Vallavan,’ S J Suryah’s ‘Kalvanin Kaadhali’ and Surya’s ‘Aaru’ will be released in December. Apart from this, we have Madhavan’s ‘Thambi,’ K S Ravikumar’s ‘Saravana,’ Dhanush’s ‘Thiruvilayadal’ and Arya’s ‘Kalaabakaadhalan’ including another handful of films.

So, let’s wait and see which film is going to reap the harvest during Pongal!
