As of now, Dharani's film has Trisha as the heroine, with Vidyasagar's music. Meanwhile Prabhu Deva is in Mumbai, where he started work on Pokkiri remake in Hindi, which has Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia in the lead. The film is produced by Sridevi Boney Kapoor, and will be finished by March 2008. It looks like Prabhu Deva's Vijay film may start sometime in May 2008. Prabhu has not yet finalized the script, though he is very particular that this time it will not be a remake. He has already signed his favourite music director Mani Sharma, who makes a great combo with Vijay and is also likely to sign up Nirav Shah, the cinematographer . WOW! But the trend now seems to be changing. Now anybody who has a good relationship with that university gets conferred an honorary doctorate,” he noted. The method of conferring an honorary doctorate on a person is not as simple as people think. A person has to be nominated by a member of the university’s Syndicate with the nominee’s bio-data, his records, his achievements and recommendations from experts in the field. The list of nominations is tabled in the Syndicate. After scrutinizing the list of nominations the university sends the name to its chancellor who finally approves the name of the person to be conferred the honorary doctorate. But it is not clear whether private universities follow this pattern, said an academician. However a number of critics of this trend feel the practice of awarding honorary degrees to celebrities just undermines the value of a degree. They feel these are just publicity stunts by a university to obtain media attention by capitalising on the popularity of the celebrity concerned. |

Shreya does need to improve a little (lip syncing and all), but for the most part, she got her expressions right in ATM. Especially in the scene after the major ESP (where Vijay is stabbing Shreya) in the house, when they first fight and Vijay leaves and the actual Vijay-Vijay-Shreya chase scene where she's stabbed. She was also good in the scene where they're convincing the mother. She definitely wasn't horrible as I thought she'd be. In fact, she seemed more at home doing this modern girl role in ATM and her chemistry with Vijay was refreshing. Haha, Gaayu, I don't think her fame really has anything to do with her acting. |

Its only from the scenes where guru returns does the movie become completely pointless.Vijay hammed too much during the dialogue exchanges when they both meet in that garage(the dialogues too were like exchanges between 2 nursery kids).And in the second half Guru lacked force.Matthabadi it was really satisfying for me. Anyway neenga sonna maathiri its high time he starts working with good directors

My thesis defense was happening right around the controversial Bush Vs Gore Election. I sort knew that a US election was imminent because my Professor had to vote and I couldn't schedule a meeting with him on that date. But wasn't aware of the whole controversy saga. Our man was, as usual, much too aware. He even fought with other voting type people on Internet forums etc. There was a moment, and I'll never forget this, where he was arguing with some US citizen lab mate, he said "let them do this xyz-thingie * I will consider * their case after they do that". The other guy he was talking to finally got pissed off and said "dude! what will you consider? you don't even have a vote. What are you so worked up about? You are in my project team and never contribute to the team project. Consider that!" |

I guess pistha is talking about unnecessary promotions of Vijay's films in the advt. related to products.....this is where I agree with pistha.... As a product or commercial advt...you need to market it or promote it...now since it is cricket, it would be better if Vijay promotes Cricket rather than using Cricket to promote his movies....just like the case of BCCI when it complained of SRK that he is using cricket to promote his movies... I have clearly said in my earlier post that Vijay is free to do |
