adutha tournament vandhuducha. sari Sep maasam pozhudhu poyidum
Among IPL teams, I think RCB has more chances to succeed due to their bowling line-up and quality in batting.
MI would be my second choice as Tiwary and Rayudu might struggle in SA conditions.
CSK were dependant on spinners. In SA pitches, konjam kashtamdhaan.

Is Zaheer Khan playing for MI in Champions League?. I really do not like this idea of him playing here (if he gets injured again )and doesn't play for the test series against Australia, SA and the World cup. There is so much at stake where I would like to see the Indian Team with full force rather than playing CL/IPL/Tonty tonties.
Tendulkar playing in CL-T20 is also quite irrelevant to me. Hope he doesn't get injured in this series. We have more important tours to follow.

I presume the pressure of non-qualification to semis is playing on in his mind. His opening partner is waste. Only Pollard and to some extent Tiwari and Rayudu saving the Middle order. Bowling (barring Malinga) and fielding is a big let down.

Sachin will not go bang-bang from the beginning. It is his partner's responsibility to take the initiative and provide some breathing space to Sachin. Dhawan andha aspect-la romba weak-a irukkaannu naan feel panren. paadhi neram thadavitte irukkaan which puts too much pressure on Sachin to go for it.
Precisely the reason why Sachin specifically wanted Sanath to open the batting for MI.

Drop Dhawan - Surely there is no place for him in this line -up. He will be traded away for sure for next year. Pollard is in his right spot batting at 3. We could have won the IPL Final if he had batted up there. Retain Malinga and Pollard in the trade off season.

The retention rules are not yet very clear. I read something like this - If two or more teams are tied in the auction for a player, then the current team gets preference. But the upper limit for a player is 2 million, which means most teams would take such a chance for only one player (foreign and Indian included).

veLLaikkaaran Greame Hick is the next Bradman nu sollaliyaa? Adhumaadhiridhaan idhuvum. If they cannot accept the fact that Indian cricket is served in a better way by non-mumbaikars barring Sachin in the last 12-15 years (forgetting Ganguly, Dravid, Kumble, Laxman, Srinath, Sehwag, Dhoni to name a very few), loss namakku illa machi (read like KaruNaas)
And BTW, the movement was started by Sourav Ganguly IMO. The team is reaping the fruits which grew on the seeds sown by him.

Franchise salary cap
* $1.8 million per year for the first player retained
* $1.3 million per year for the second player retained
* $900,000 per year for the third player retained
* $500,000 per year for the fourth player retained
If a franchise decides to retain four players, it will be charged $4.5 million per year and will have only $4.5 million to spend on other 26 players, compared to the $9 million available to a franchise that retains no one. The size of the squad is capped at 30 players.

Chennai play it like champions do
While Chennai were steamrolling their opponents, there was a definite sense in the stadium that a small part of history was being witnessed
September 15, 2010
If Tiger Woods wins a 15th championship, Roger Federer scoops his 17th Grand Slam or Real Madrid storm to a 32nd La Liga title, we're unlikely to be flabbergasted. Even if it comes at a time when their Midas-like touches appear to be being eroded by younger, sexier competition, we won't be totally surprised. The truth is that all three of those are cemented in our minds as champions, deities and heroes and sooner or later we expect that they'll do something godly to reassure us that they still deserve to be thought of as such.
IPL teams do not have that status yet. How can they? The IPL is only three seasons old and besides the number of dissidents who refuse to associate themselves with it, even real fans have no clue who will establish themselves as the perennial team to beat. Each season yielded a different winner while the same teams haven't been consistently better than others in all three years.
That's not to say the IPL deserves all the scorn it's getting. In time, traditional rivalries will build, so too will traditional powerhouses. The Chennai Super Kings may have laid the first brick in that construction's name when they comprehensively walloped Wayamba in Centurion on Wednesday night.
They beat the team from Sri Lanka by 97 runs, a margin of victory that has not been achieved in the tournament before. Murali Vijay and Suresh Raina put on 137 for the second wicket, the highest in the Champions League's short history. That helped Chennai reach 200 for three, the highest score in this year's competition so far. R Ashwin captured four for 18, the best bowling figures of this year's tournament to date and the win makes Chennai the first IPL team to register two consecutive wins in the CLT20.
Everything about Chennai on the night screamed, "We are champions." Their aggressive intent with the bat, their killer instinct with the ball and their error-free demonstration in the field was all the stuff of conquerors. They even have an Americanised, spelling-bee cheerleading jingle, which was just about the only music one could hear in the stadium to accompany their antics. It goes like this: S-U-PER, K-I-NGS, in a high pitched voice so ditzy you can hear the blonde in it.
Irritating or not, that song is what is going to stick in the minds of people who watched Wayamba whittled and that song is how they will identify with and remember Chennai. And that is what real champions do. They break records, they set new ones, they lay claim to statistics, facts, trivia and even music that can be associated with them alone.
Chennai were pioneers in two ways before this match even began: Matthew Hayden was the first to wield the Mongoose bat in this year's IPL and Muttiah Muralitharan is the only man who can wear the number 800 on his shirt with it having real meaning. Both were given their fair share of crowd attention. It's those details that create links between players and supporters and build traditions. The strongest tie to the fans tonight lay with another player - a favourite son of SuperSport Park - Albie Morkel. The most rousing of welcomes was saved for him. Fond applause followed him as he batted and passionate cheering when he bowled. As luck would have it, the home boy took the first two wickets, swaying any straying member of the audience to throw their weight behind Chennai.
There was a definite sense in the stadium that a small part of history was being witnessed, marking the start of something special. When Wayamba were reduced to 35 for 6, the restlessness rode through the air. It's not that people wanted to go home, they wanted to see more records being smashed. Chennai were in the position to bowl Wayamba out for the lowest total any team has been dismissed for in the Champions League. The Cape Cobras hold that ignominy after they were ousted for 84 in last year's tournament.
It was a chance missed by Chennai as they loosened their grip slightly. Nonetheless, they still bowled Wayamba out for 103 and previously Central Districts for 94 - the lowest scores this edition. Those are figures that will be remembered and talked about for some time. They could be among the figures that feature on a page in the history book that's just begun to be written.

Ideally, raina bollinger and murali.
But how much to spend will be a question. I personally think srinivasan will resign india cements csk owner role and pull strings as bcci prez. So rainavai epdixaavadhu correct paNNiduvaar meratti uruttiyaavadhu.
DK might come for Farex at the most.

Kochi might go for ashwin though.
Csk - dhoni suren possibly raina
Delhi - viru sure, gambhir likely
Mumbai - sach sure, pollard sure, malinga likely. They shouldn't break the bank for zak or durby but sachinku durby mela oru thozharpaandiyar paasam undu so paarpom
Note that only csk and mumbai wanted 4 players to be retained other franchises were not keen so I guess they might have a plan already

Exactly. The commentator said Bollinger was very angry and kicking the ground after the end of the Super Over. Even Murali might have been a good option since he gave very few runs in the match.
Maybe Dhoni thought he was doing a Joginder Sharma when he threw the ball to Ashwin. It was a brave move which backfired.
PS: I was very irritated when Dhoni and other team-mates didn't console Ashwin when he was in his knees waiting for the ground underneath to open up.

as usual commentary team were supporting and sympathising with bangalore team........they said rain delay and steyn's injury as the main reasons but nobody talked why
A. kumble didnt have planB in case of injury to frontline bowlers
B. Du preez, seamer went for so many runs when csk seamers got it right
C. Raina's great innings in a big match.....even pandey hit 50 proving it was RCB batsmen mistakes to have got out and not the pitch.....
D. RCB fielded poorly

Although I was happy for CSK's continued supremacy, I am equally sad for the fact that this team will be dismantled in 2 months..
Looks like Dhoni, Raina, Albie and Hussey have been retained.

I think they will retain only 2 players (dhoni & raina).. if you retain 4 players, then you will end up having only 4.5 million for the auction.. the overall limit is 9 million...
we should try to select the same players as many as possible in the auction... Murali Vijay & Ashwin will have a huge demand in the new auction.. balaji & badri ellam automatic choices for CSK (vera yaarum edukka mattaanga...)
