Mr Anbazhagan has made a recent statement that Sanskrit is a "fake" language and has also expressed some more strong feelings of repulsion (Refer expressindia.com dated july 26). Language is not just a means of communication; in its development along with the cultural advancement of a society, it acquires a vigour and life and becomes an expression of the finest sentiments of man. So, when one acquires a sensibility of appreciating the best things that are expressed in one's mother tongue, one invariably acquires a refined taste of identifying such an element in any other language, if it exists in it. Aren't we blinded by such fake tamil scholars as Mr.Anbazhagan who politicize such finer issues? Sanskrit may not be a "language of the Gods" but has it not expressed some of the finest thought content that our country has produced? It is a shame that we call these guys as scholars !!!

Madurai,
sanskrit might be a fake language, and works in it shamelessly copied from another language.
HOW?
just one of the facts about SANSKRIT is that it has 70 words for water that HAVE NOT BEEN DERIVED from ANYOTHER language......which when added with a pre-fix these words then amalgamated to another 280 different words....!!
so how can SANSKRIT be an INVENTED language?
please explain......
check thread on Vimaanika SHAASTRA and see other sites for yourselves........

"pragati" is one word....
"gati" means speed and "pra" probably means "ahead" or to move "forward".
kSINagati means slackened or diminished motion or progress.
bhUyobhAva is another word meaning increase , growth or progress.
kRtAgama is one who made progress, one who has advanced.
This is a nice online sanskrit dictionary - the best by my choice (but v.slow): http://www.uni-koeln.de/phil-fak/indologie/tamil/mwd_search.html
