Dear Friends and music lovers,

I hope you will allow me to draw your attention to a concert by Ustad
Nishat Khan at Columbia University on Oct 16th. If you have never heard him,
he is absolutely dazzling -- a very traditional player, extremely
disciplined, but yet gifted and innovative in the most unusual ways.

Ustad Nishat Khan is the most talented sitarist of his generation.
I had the pleasure of hosting him at a very special concert in LA
some two months ago, and that concert is still remembered by
music afficionados as one of the best they had ever heard.

This is Khansahab's first performance in New York in 6 years, it will truly be a memorable event.
