What is the raga that is a janya raga of Dheera-sankarabharanam (29) which has the structure:
s g m d n s - s n d m g s, or equivalently,
s m g m d n s - s n d m g s
(ie., something like Vasantha without the ri)
TIA

Kartik: I am not sure if this carnatic kaushikadhvani has any relationship with the hindustani raga of the same name. I will check into it.
As far as I know it is kaushikadhvani in hindustani also. There are a couple of ragas staring with kaunshi-kaushikAnaDA, kaushibhairav and maybe kaushibahAr.

From Raganidhi by B.Subba Rao.
Hindustani kaushikadhvani belongs to bilAval thAT. Scale: SGMDNS/SNDMGS
The Karnatak equivalent is called Dhaka (under mELA 29) and has the same notes as the hinudtani raga of kaushikadhvani.
It is the shuddha madhyama counterpart of the Karnatak raga sunAdavinOdin (hindOl in hindustani).
