I donot rember the year when Thiagaraja Bagawather visited Jaffna but I canot forget the song he sang that day. He didnot come to Jaffna on business but just to visit places like Keerimalaiand and Nallore Kandaswamy Temple. That great cinema Super star was given a public reception in one of the esplanades in Jaffna where there is the Openair Stadium now and then it was not but a stage was errected for the purpose of M.K. Thagaraja Bagawathars visit.
Still now the song he sang rings in my ears, the song he sang, when the enormous crowsd of peoples who gethered to see him unanimusly requested. Actually it was not a song but a Thevaram. It was "Sotrunai Vethiyan Sothi Vaanavan."

M.K.T sang the Thevaram "Sotrunaivethian" in Ananda Bhairavi. There were no band of musical instrument players present to play along with his recital. Inspite The whole croud of Thiagans fans {Jaffna people refered to him as " Thiagan " which was the Sellappeyar the Sri Lankan Tamils have ardored him with, claped their hands cheerfully as if they had listened to a hevanly music from Swarkkalogam. Such great he was. Thiagaraja Bagawather was really a great Sangeetha Saagaram.
