What is the actual frequency of Sa?
What is the frequency relationship between notes? i.e whether f(Sa)/f(Ri1) is always a constant, or f(Sa) - f(Ri1) is a constant, or f(Sa1)/f(Ri1)=f(Ri1)/f(Ri2)= ... and so on?
Would appreciate if somebody can help me out on this. Thanks in advance!

  Hi there
  there is no fixed or absolute frequency value for Sa in our music. It depends on each singer but indeed once we fix the frequency value for Sa , the frequencies for all othre swaras get fixed automatically . Thats why Sa is called the adhara shadja. In fact one of the meanings for the word shadja is 2that from which 6[the other 6 swaras] are born. The frequency ratio between Sa and its immediate next sa [ i mean madhya sthatyi and tarasthayi , mandra sthayi and madhya sthayi and so on is 1:2.[ good to recall resonance , harmonics and overtones from physics] I cant offhand recall the frequency intervals/ratios between sa and the other swaras but i can assure u it is there. But a note of caution, in our music which is replete with gamakas the actually frequency value of the same swara in different ragas may differ minutely in frequency values[ comma, semicolon]. So music is pure science and physics and maths but beyond them as well. hope u find this useful
