The others are: Balamuralikrishna, Bangalore S.Mukund, Dokka Shriramulu, Kadalur Subramaniam, R.K.Suryanarayana, C.Rangiah and Ashok R.Madhav. Of course Dikshitar has composed in asampurNa mELAs.

Kotiswara Iyer was the "first" composer (after Muthuswami Dikshitar, f course) who composed krithis in all 72 meLams. His work, "kanda gAnAmudam" has songs in all 72 melams, in chaste tamil. They are all in praise of Lord Muruga, and some of them are very philosophical. The Raga (mela) mudra of each krithi is cleverly woven into the Tamil text through doublemeanings - a monumental task indeed. The author has also used the mudra"kaviku~njaradAsa" or its equivalent term in all these songs. Kavikunjara was his grandfater.
shri S. Rajam has sung all these compositions in a beautiful manner in ten one hour cassette albums. Also, S. Rajam has published a book giving notations of all these songs.
A recent thread to discuss Kotiswara Iyer's mela compositions has been started in http://www.carnatica.com in the Rasika Forum.
Some of Kotiswara iyer's mela compositions like:
antaranga bhakti (jhankaradhwani)
edayya gato (cala natta)
gAnAmuthapAnam (jyotiswarupini) are very popular in concerts.

M. Balamuralikrishna's 72 mela compositioins are also available in a nine cassete series "rAgAnga ravaLI" (under Sangeetha label), sung by the composer himself. The author himself has published the songs with notations. The series is on different gods/goddesses, and there are krithis in praise of Saint Tyagaraja, Muthuswami Dikshitar etc. The citrambari mela krithi din praise of ikshitar is in the style of Dikshitar, and the composer even uses the Gopucca/shrotovaha yati in the lyric (like the ones in Tyagarajayoga vaibhavam, shri sarasvati namostute, maye twam yahi etc of Dikshitar). The Rishabhapriya krithi apropriately begins with "nandisham vandeham sada". The rasikapriya krithi is on Anjaneya "rAmanAmarasikapriya). The Jyotiswarupini krithi is on Gayathri. Very thoughtful indeed.
All these were accomplished by Balamuralikrishna when he was 14 years old!

Is there typically only one kriti by each of these composers in each melakarta, especially ones like Mela # 1 Kanakambari. Is there generally only one charanam or are there more ? Sometimes the Dikshitar changes the taala for e.g. in Mela # 4 Bhanumati where there are two MD krities. The taalas used by different composers for these lesser known melas can also be compared.

Kotiswara Iyer compositions are all in Tamil, and S. Rajam's book is also in tamil, with notations (published by the author, and can be obtained from the author directly at 41 Nadu st, Mylapore - or from Karnatic Music Book Store in Royapettah, Madras. The book also contains all other (non-melakartha- krithis of Kotiswara Iyer.
The ten set cassettes are also released by S. Rajam (I guess under the label - Sunada), and can be obtained from S. Rajam. Maybe, during the December season, it will be available in most venues or Shankara hall, where they hold the annual casette/CD sales!
S. rajam recently released another set of three cassettes, where the remaining (non-melakartha series) compositions of Ktiswara Iyer are sung by a team of his disciples.
Some of Balamurali compositions are in Sanskrit, and others are in Telugu, and were available in a 9 cassette set called "Raganga Ravali" (sung by hismself) and released by the Sangeetha label. But, Sangeetha company does not exist anymore!
Nadopasaka: typically, there is only one krithi in each melam, and the whole series is a "set of krithis, one for each meLam". Kotiswara Iyer has an invocation song in Hamsadhvani on ganesa, and a Mangala krithi in suraTTi.
While the Balamurali recordings are in a serial order melams 1 - 72, Rajam's are jutaposed - a mixture of shuddha/prati madhyama, and different talams, but all 72 songs + invocation + mangalam are there, includiang a brief introduction by T. Parthasarathy in the first cassette. Also, Rajam sings the scale (arohana-avarohana) for each melam, and for rare melams, he even gives a nice Alapana.

Thanks PPN, I think a modern version of all the 72 ASAMPURNA melas kritis is a real challenge.
Even modern individual kritis in asampurna melas may be hard to find. Maybe Lakshman can give some examples of any such recent krities by later composers for example in vakra sampurna mela (Toya)-Vegavahini (close, but not the same as Chakravakam) which is a familiar melody the less known asampurna Kanakambari. I also dont hear much from Ramaa?manohari vakra asampurna equivalent of Ramapriya.
There is no doubt that the modern composers including KotiswaraI take there examples and inspiration to compose in all melas from the Dikshitar , including raga mudra usage, choosing however the sampurna scheme. The desire to compose in all melakartas is not seen in the vast imagination of Tyagaraja or Syama Sastri suggesting that a certain amount of scholarship is involved.

In my earlier post, I typed jhankaradhvani as the ragam for "antaranga bhakti" of Kotiswara Iyer. Please read it as Shadvidha margini. Sorry about the typo.

Initially when Sri.Balamurali Krishna composed the songs in 72 Melakartha ragas, the book was published by name "Janaka Raga Kriti Manjari". After many years, and upon request from many music students... the book was re-published in the name "Ragaanga Ravali".
