How Black September was finished?

Here is an interesting piece of information on how we can deal with terrorists. This is how, one of the most dreaded terrorist unit was ended.
Not that I am advocating kid gloves for the Muslim terrorists in Kashmir and elsewhere in India. Our guys are far more numerous in number and even the Indian Muslims treat India as a 'kafir' state. And trans-national loyalties are also there. So, there is a certain need for dealing with these terrorists and the Islamic establishments such as madrassas and mosques with an iron hand. But, when you have successfully done that, which again calls for political will, there is always a point where the terrorists start to feel how bogus the claims of 'jehad' and the promised stint in the heaven with 72 heuris are. At that juncture it is a nice idea to integrate them with the society and give them a better reason to live. That is where this incident may be useful.

So apparently the subservient position of women in Islam CAN help bring an end to terrorism.
The problem in SL is that even women ('Freedom Birds') are terrorists!

Thatb is only because LTTE has proscribed marriage and love among its cadres.

Why does Praba get to be married then? Is that what's called a 'perquisite' of being a terrorist leader?

why don't you both talk something that you know about?
Karthik, do not take the silence in ForumHub for granted. You brain is toally scr ewed up with the loss of the brahminic domination in Tamilnadu. Now you need a scapegoat to kick the b u t t. How about you concentrating on stove-bridal burning and dowery system in brahmin communities?
Nisala, what I wonder is what is your opinion about UNF leader's thinking on negotitation with LTTE.
US and its allies can define anything for their own interests, and the definitions can change rapidly in time according to make things good for them. Today LTTE is banned, and you can see a fledglings of posting from you and your brothers -only because Sri Lankan Tamils in aboard and every other diaspora community that has a keen concern of its brotherns in its native land seem afraid that the speed the defintions push the laws towards the well-skinned near-nazi stands, and the way right wingers evoke nationalistic feelings to get upper hand in every western governments can put the sincere intererst of the diaspora under racist attacks. People like you take it for granted and try to equate your superior feelings over the minorities in the countries to the patriotism and try every bit of the typing to show the sincere demand and fight of the minorities as terrorism. It will not take a single moment for things to change in the other direction. However the bottom line is the history never showed that a single civilisation or a single country ruled the whole world forever.
Do you really think that by shouting here LTTE can cover the decade long sufferings of the Sri Lankan Tamils in your hands or make the problems in Sri Lanka get solved. You may get a satisfying feeling in you mind while going to the bed, but the matters won't change unless the problem gets solved in the real way. Look at Northen Ireland. Hiding the head under the hot desert sand does not make the reality vanish. There is no abracabrada for the real issues. Like it or not, though they banned LTTE for the COLLECTIVE political reasons, India, US, UK, Canada and Australia do well aware that there is no peaceful solution unless
a. (even with its negative side), LTTE is taken into the process as the sole representative of Sri Lankan Tamils, and
b. the issues are sincerely settled once and for all
the vicious cycle continues in the island. You and kid brothers may write thousands of phrases with enough adjectives and adverbs, but the reality is simply reality, not a cyber circus.
You may want to know one thing very clear. There are people who may have enough sarcasm, knowledge, smartness, straightfowardness and time to counter-post you, your brothers and Karthik. They refrain from doing it thinking of its worth and the respect for forumhub. Cyberjacking a forum is easy, but the differece is made by the mutual respects. These people do even not violate it in any pro-Lanka forum.
Good luck in continuing posts. You and your kid brothers may give a first hand experience and convince the people in this forum what a Sinhala spectrum and collective mindset could be.
To all, have a nice new year.

I agree with the UNF's current strategy. There are those who argue that the LTTE will use the ceasefire to rearm and rebuild. My response has always been that the SL govt. can also take advantage of the situation, so I do not identify with our Jathiya friends.
The only thing I'm frustrated with is that Wickremansinghe is not moving fast enough. He wants to wait until after March. Phooey on him.
If a peaceful settlement can be reached to keep the island unified, then that would be great. No more war would mean no more checkpoints & artillery shelling.
However, I do not think there will be a settlement now. I think the LTTE will break the ceasefire as they've always done because they can't betray their violent terrorist backgrounds. But so far they've played smart by refraining from any suicide bombing (unlike their Islamist counterparts).
If you want to discuss things, come to the 'ETA' thread.
