Hello:

Quite often I feel like referring to some authentic source to get clarified on whether a word is of pure Tamil origin or a Sanskrit derivative. Is there any site which can help me on this ? For instance, are the following two words of pure Tamil roots: 'Kavya', 'Vaani' ? Is "Vaani", representing Goddess Sarawati, a Sanskrit word ?

Any precise help would be highly appreciated.
