Vijay requests K.S. Ravikumar to direct him

Ilayathalapathy Vijay is actually running through a rapid acid test with his ‘Vettaikaaran’ and ‘Urimai Kural’. Al though these films doesn’t have anything more in unique themes other than being commercial, the actor has mounted his hopes on it. Recently during the audio launch of Surya starrer ‘Aadhavan’, Vijay had requested K.S. Ravikumar to wield megaphone for one of his films.

According to the buzzes, Vijay seems to have requested director K.S. Ravikumar to direct a film as their previous film ‘Minsara Kanna’ didn’t witness good results although it was received well by the audiences.

Looks like it probably it would Vijay’s 51st film for which he had requested him. Meanwhile, Aascar Ravichandran has already signed deal with Vijay for this film

Ilayathalapathy Vijay s upcoming venture Vettaikaran is proceeding at a rapid speed. The movie has been almost completed and is all set to be released for Diwali. The final schedule of shooting is going for day and night and Vijay who usually doesnt go for shooting on sunday has sacrificed this time for Vettaikaran.

Vijay is involved in shooting all 24 hrs and all days too. Shooting is going on in parrys,Valasaravakkam and other areas in and around chennai in a very tight manner. Since the movie is all set to hit the screens this diwali fans are very much excited and Audio of the movie is all set to be released in the mid of september.

Vijay equals Rajinikanth in box office collection

Chennai, August 1: Recession has not hit huge paychecks of Kollywood (Tamil film industry in South India) heroes and heroines. If Kollywood production executives and film industry experts are to be believed, there has been a steady rise in the pay of actors in the industry which has an annual turnover of Rs.1600-crore and churns out an average of 120 films a year.

However, there is a correction in the top 5 mass heroes’ list in the industry. Actor Surya has gone a notch above and replaced Ajith who occupied No.3 position so far. Surya’s recent massive hit Ayan has contributed to this growth. Surya commands Rs. 6 crore as salary for his 25th film Singam to be directed by Hari. Ajith pins hopes on his forthcoming flick Asal for a comeback after successive box office duds.

Vijay, the No.2 in the industry, is getting Rs. 9 crore as salary for his 50th film which is yet to be named according sources close to its producer, Mr Sangili Murugan. This makes him share an equal space with superstar Rajinikanth who now does a film once in two years. Rajini earned about Rs.25 crore as salary for Shivaji (2007) while Chandramukhi fetched him Rs.15 crore.

Vijay commits himself to two films a year. “Even if Vijay does three films in two years, he will earn Rs.27 crore as salary alone,” said the production executive associated with the actor’s present film (Vettaikkaran) team.

“If Rajinikanth’s forthcoming Endhiran works well and contributes to a turnover of over Rs. 300 crore, he could still command Rs. 25 crore,” said one of the sources at Sun Pictures, the producers of Endhiran. “Rajinikanth has committed himself to do his next film also with us,” the source added.

“The top mass heroes are not decided on the basis of the salary they get. But it is based on the box office collection they are able to generate. Kamal Haasan may get a good salary. But he remains a class hero as producers cannot depend on his films for huge box office collection,” said R.Ramanujam, Editor, Tamil Nadu Entertainment, a film trade magazine.

Ajith has slipped to No. 4 from No. 3 after the rise of Surya post-Ayan. Vikram remains No. 5 in terms of box office collection. “If Surya’s next ventures Aadhavan and Singam work well in the box office, he could be the next big thing in Kollywood,” said a production executive from Ayngaran International.

As far as heroines are concerned, Nayanthara and Anoushka remain on top. Nayanthara earned Rs. 1 crore as salary for Aadhavan. Anoushka earned Rs. 1 crore for her lead role in Vettaikkaran. While Shriya Saran and Tamannah command upto Rs. 60 – Rs.70 lakh each per film, other actresses are far behind in commanding big salaries according to Kollywood's trade circles.

திமுகவின் கோபம்-ராகுலை தவிர்க்கும் விஜய்!

திமுக தரப்பிலிருந்து கடும் கோபத்தை சந்திக்க ஆரம்பித்துள்ள நடிகர் விஜய், தமிழகம் வரும் ராகுல் காந்தியை சந்திப்பதைத் தவிர்த்துள்ளார்.

சமீபத்தில் டெல்லியில் ராகுல் காந்தியை நேரில் சந்தித்துப் பேசினார் விஜய். இதையடுத்து அவர் காங்கிரஸில் சேரப் போவதாகவும், இளைஞர் காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர் பதவி அவருக்கு கிடைக்கும் எனவும் பேச்சுக்கள் கிளம்பியது.

இதுதொடர்பாக விஜய் நேரடியாக எந்த விளக்கத்தையும் இதுவரை அளிக்கவில்லை.

ஆனால் விஜய் ராகுல் காந்தியை சந்திக்க இயலாத நிலை இருப்பதாக கூறியுள்ளதால் காங்கிரஸ் தரப்பு பெரும் ஏமாற்றமடைந்துள்ளது.

திமுக அல்லது அதிமுக என்ற ஏதாவது ஒரு குதிரையில் மாறி மாறி ஏறிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் காங்கிரஸ் கட்சிக்கு இப்போது தனிக் குதிரையில் சவாரி போகும் ஆசை வந்து விட்டது. இதனால் தேமுதிகவை தன் பக்கம் இழுக்க அது தீவிரமாக முயன்று வருகிறது. காங்கிரஸ் வந்தால் பார்க்கலாம் என்று முதல் முறையாக சமீபத்தில் விஜயகாந்த் கூட்டணிக்குத் தயார் என்பதை மறைமுகமாக கூறியிருந்தார்.

இந்த நிலையில் விஜய்யையும் இழுத்து விட்டால் கட்சி பலம் பல மடங்கு கூடி விடும் என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்பில் உள்ளது காங்கிரஸ் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

விஜயகாந்த், விஜய் இருந்தால் அடுத்த சட்டசபைத் தேர்தலை தனியாக கூட சந்திக்கலாம் என்ற துணிச்சலான எண்ணத்தில் உள்ளது காங்கிரஸ். இதற்காகவே கட்சியைப் பலப்படுத்தும் நடவடிக்கைகளுக்கு ராகுல் காந்தி முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்து வருகிறார் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

Rahul’s visit, Vijay’s silence!

Looks like Rahul Gandhi’s Tamil Nadu visit has evinced as much interest among politicians as it had on Vijay’s meeting with the Congress General Secretary a while ago in Delhi. Although it was widely speculated that Vijay would join the Congress party, no confirmed news was made available after the meeting.

Rahul is now touring Tamil Nadu and is expected to attend a conference in Coimbatore today addressing his party members. Congress sources aver that Vijay will join the party officially tomorrow in Coimbatore on the occasion. However, no official announcement is available from the Vijay stable as yet in this regard.

Has Ilayathalapathy Vijay given up his dream of joining politics via the Congress?

After his high profile meeting with Congress General Secretary and youth icon Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi, he was expected to join Congress during Rahul’s whirlwind Tamil Nadu tour, which ended yesterday. Vijay failed to turn up to greet or meet the youth leader and kept a studious silence.

The grapevine is abuzz that Vijay and his father was given a dressing down by a powerful leader from Tamil Nadu and asked to make up his choice whether to continue acting in films or join politics.

An arch constructed by the actor at his Shobha Kalyana Mandapam in Saligramam was also pulled down by the authorities as “it was obstructing traffic”!

Sources close to Vijay say that he is keeping a diplomatic silence as he is very keen that his Vettaikaran releases for Diwali. It looks like till the film is released he will keep a low profile.

Vijay clarifies on his next move

Amidst speculation that Vijay is all set to enter politics, the actor hosted a press meet on September 13, 2009 at JS Kalyana Mandapam.

Vijay has made it clear that he has no intention to enter politics and would like to concentrate on films. Though, the actor reiterated that his welfare activities would continue through his fans’ clubs as always.

காங்கிரசில் சேரமாட்டேன்: எதிர்காலத்தில் அரசியலில் குதிப்பேன்- விஜய் பரபரப்பு பேட்டி

தமிழ்த்திரையுலகின் முன்னணி நடிகர் விஜய் விரைவில் அரசியலுக்கு வருவார் என்று சில நாட்களாக பேச்சு அடிபட்டது.

இந்த நிலையில் திடீரென்று டெல்லியில் காங்கிரஸ் பொதுச்செயலாளர் ராகுல்காந்தியை சந்தித்தார். சுமார் 45 நிமிடங்கள் இருவரும் பேசினார்கள்.

தமிழ்நாட்டில் சுற்றுப் பயணம் மேற்கொண்ட ராகுல்காந்தியும் நடிகர் விஜய் தன்னை சந்தித்ததை ஒத்துக்கொண்டார். காங்கிரசின் கொள்கைகளை விஜய் கேட்டறிந்தார். அவரிடம் விளக்கமாக தெரிவித்தோம். காங்கிரசில் இணைந்தால் அவரை வரவேற்போம் என்று அறிவித்தார்.

இதற்கு விஜய் எந்த பதிலும் சொல்லவில்லை. அவர் காங்கிரசில் சேருவாரா? தனிக்கட்சி தொடங்குவாரா? என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்பு பலரிடமும் எழுந்துள்ளது.

கடந்த சில நாட்களாக என்னைப்பற்றி பல்வேறு செய்திகள் வந்தன. நேற்று மாலைப் பத்திரிகையில் கூட நான் இன்று உங்களை சந்திக்கப் போகிறேன் என்று அறிவித்ததை அரசியல் பிரவேசம் செய்யப்போவதாக செய்தி வந்தது. அந்த அளவு பெரிய சீன்கள் என்னிடம் இல்லை. முன்பே வேட்டைக்காரன் படப்பிடிப்பையொட்டி நிருபர்களை சந்திக்க நினைத்தேன்.

ராஜசேகர ரெட்டி மறைவால் அது நடக்கவில்லை. அவரது குடும்பத்தினருக்கு இரங்கலை தெரிவிக்கிறேன். நான் இப்படி செய்யப்போகிறேன் அப்படி செய்யப் போகிறேன் என்றெல்லாம் வந்த செய்திகளை பார்த்து தனியாக உட்கார்ந்து யோசித்தேன். அது மாதிரி இருந்தால் எப்படி இருக்கும் என்றும் ஆலோசித்தேன்.

ரசிகர்களுக்கும் தமிழக மக்களுக்கும் இச்செய்திகளால் குழப்பங்கள் ஏற்பட்டு விட்டது. அதை தெளிவுபடுத்தும் கடமை எனக்கு இருக்கிறது. எனவே சில விஷயங்களை உங்களிடம் பகிர்ந்து கொள்கிறேன்.

தமிழக மக்களுக்கு சேவை செய்யும் நோக்கத்தில் மக்கள் இயக்கம் ஆரம்பித்தேன். கம்ப்யூட்டர் மையங்கள் திறந்தேன். புதுக்கோட்டை, புதுச்சேரி பகுதிகளில் சுற்றுப்பயணம் செய்தேன். அப்போதுதான் திடீரென்று ராகுல்ஜியிடம் இருந்து எனக்கு அழைப்பு வந்தது. என் நல விரும்பி ஒருவர் மூலம் என்னை சந்திக்க அழைத்தார். அதை எற்று எனது தந்தையும் நானும் டெல்லி சென்றோம். நன்றாக உபசரித்து வரவேற்றார்.

அது எனக்கு கிடைத்த பெரிய வாய்ப்பு. இந்திய அளவில் ராகுலின் பணிகள் பாராட்டும்படி உள்ளன. பாராளுமன்ற தேர்தல் வெற்றிக்கு திறமையாக பணியாற்றினார். அவர் என்னிடம் பேசிய விதமும் வரவேற்பு அளித்த பாங்கும் ஆச்சரியப்பட வைத்தது. 1 மணி நேரம் பேசினோம். நிறைய விஷயங்கள் விவாதித்தோம். நான் நடிக்கும் சினிமாக்கள் பற்றி கேட்டார். மக்கள் இயக்கம் பற்றியும் விவாதித்தார். ராகுலை சந்தித்தது ரசிகர்களுக்கும் மக்களுக்கும் கிடைத்த பெருமை. இந்த சந்திப்பின் மூலம் நான் ஏதோ முடிவு செய்து விட்டதாக செய்திகள் வந்தன.

அப்படி எந்த முடிவும் எடுக்கவில்லை. நான் எது செய்தாலும் ரசிகர்கள், பொதுமக்கள் கருத்துக்களை அறிந்துதான் செய்வேன். எனக்கு கடவுள் கொடுத்த பரிசு ரசிகர்கள்தான். அவர்களை நல்ல பாதையில் அழைத்து செல்லும் பொறுப்பு எனக்கு இருக்கிறது.

இப்போது நான் எந்த முடிவும் எடுக்கவில்லை. யாருடனும் சேரவில்லை. இப்போது நடக்காவிட்டாலும் எதிர்காலத்தில் என்ன நடக்கும் என்று தெரியாது.

தமிழக மக்களுக்கும் உலகத் தமிழர்களுக்கும் நல்லது நடக்கும் என்றால் கண்டிப்பாக நான் எதிர் காலத்தில் அவர்களுக்காக பாடுபட தயாராவேன். என்னை வாழ வைத்தவர்கள் தமிழர்கள்தான். அவர்களால்தான் இந்த அளவு உயர்ந்துள்ளேன்.

Did not discuss politics with Rahul, says Vijay

Actor Vijay on Sunday said that he did not discuss politics with AlCC general secretary Rahul Gandhi. At present he was concentrating on films, especially his latest venture “Vettaikaran.”

He, however, hinted that he was not averse to the idea of taking a plunge into politics. “I might,” he said when asked whether he would join politics in future and convert the Makkal Iyakkam, a movement launched by him, into a political outfit.

Talking to journalists in the wake of media reports that he would join the Congress, the actor said the meeting with Mr. Gandhi was arranged by a well-wisher.

“It was a wonderful meeting. There is a lot of speculation in the media and I would have been only happy if it were true,” he said.

“I was surprised when I was asked to meet Mr. Gandhi. I am not a big fry. But thought it was a good opportunity, because he is a leader who brought about changes and ensured a great victory for the Congress in the Lok Sabha polls. I cancelled my shootings and met him. We discussed about cinema, Makkal Iyakkam and my fans club,” he said.

“Mr. Rahul Gandhi is targeting the youth and I am also concentrating on mobilising the youth,” he further said.

Asked whether he had a liking for the Congress, he retorted asking who would not like a national party that worked for the welfare of the people.

Recalling his fast in support of the Sri Lankan Tamils, Mr. Vijay said he would not remain a mute spectator when Tamils were facing a problem.

“In the future I would join hands with a government that will work for the welfare of the Tamils,” he said.

Asked if the present government was not doing good things, Mr. Vijay said he had only talked about a government in the future.

“Chief Minister Kalaignar is functioning like a youth,” he said,

while refusing to make a comparison between the DMK and the Congress.

The actor was literally surprised that Vijay was contemplating to enter the political arena and rued that due to his busy schedule in Pazhassi Raja he was not update with the latest Kollywood news. Mammootty said that at present he would concentrate only in acting and nothing else.

Speaking about Tamil films, the actor said that he liked Naadodigal for the way the story has been told. He was all praises for the Naadodigal team for bringing out a simple love story in a totally different light.

The long awaited answer for Vijay's stepping into politics was unfolded today by Vijay himself in the Press Meet organised by him today(13th Sept) at 1PM. He clearly said that he hasn't taken any decision about entering politics and it would take few more year to see him coming to politics. He added that he would only concentrate in giving good quality movies as of now.

However he confirmed that he met Rahul Gandhi, but did not speak anything about politics. He said he liked Rahul's way of approaching the youths and Rahul liked Vijay's charity and welfare works.

He also said that " Fans from Tamilnadu are god's gift to me. I will definitely fight for Tamil people if they face any problem. Right know I am not matured in politics to decide which party is better, D.M.K or Congress. I will think of that later."

Regarding Vettaikaaran he said that he himself doesn't know anything about the Audio launch. The Cassette and CD printing works are going on, They will be released once the work is completed.

It looks like Ilayathalapathy Vijay is making an attempt to steer clear of cesspool of state politics.

On Sunday (Sep 13) afternoon, he organized a press meet at his JS Kalyana Mandapam in Vadapalani to make certain clarifications regarding his “so called entry to Tamil politics as made out by the media”.

Vijay at the meet, said that he has no intention to join politics immediately and would like to concentrate on his film assignments. However the actor added that his Makkal Iyyakkam is here to stay and all his welfare activities would continue through his fans’ clubs.

It was a third person, a neutral guy who took him to meet Rahulji. Vijay confessed he had a “one to one meeting with Rahulji in Delhi” and he was very impressed by him. He said that he talked to Rahulji for nearly an hour, mostly about movies!

The press conference ended abruptly during the question and answer session as journalists continued to ask the actor the same question repeatedly.
