Director Thirumurugan and actor Bharath, who came together to render a hit in ‘Em Mahan‘, have teamed up again for a movie titled ‘Muniyandi Vilangiyal Mundraam Aandu‘.

The movie is produced by Malaysian-based firm Lotus Five Star in association with Thiru Pictures.
Bharath plays the hero while Nasser and Vadivelu play prominent roles in the movie. Vidyasagar is scoring music for the movie, which would have lyrics by Vairamuthu.
The other credits are Vaithi (Cinematography), Baskar Sakthi (Dialogues), Boopathy (Art) and Datho Durai Saingam and Karunamurthy (Production).
Says Thirumurugan, “it is a movie that dwells on a college which has not been swept by the fast changing lifestyle in cities. It is a movie with action, sentiment and romance.”

I still remember the feedback on 'Em Magan'. Naayagan kamal maari azhuthoemnnu sonnanga. He didn't impress me with Em Magan. I saw the trailor while watching Dasa. From the trailor, it looks like a typical tamil film. Vadivelu comedy was good in some places in the trailor. Mathapadi perusa sollurathukku onnum illai. hmm.. I would be happy if I am proved wrong

I loved Emttan Magan and was reduced to tears in a couple of scenes. Bharath, Nassar and vadivelu were excellent.
Meaning no offense to you, the very thing you applause in a movie is what I despise.

Pasangaloda kumbala antha padathukku poyittu, theatre la evanoe mukkiyamaana scenekku naayagan kamal maari mimicry pannittan pola (vivek effect ah ? ). ..Looks like they are younsters who expect a selvarghavan movie from Thirumurugan.
Thirumurugan is one director who can make us 'swarasyam' with simple and straight forward screen play ,without much of technical briliance.
I got what expected from Thirumurugan.

The death scene was uncomfortable, for me, to watch in the otherwise brilliant movie..! Any movies that dwell on father-son relationship leaves an impact on me, now that I have a career, a family, 2 kids, and respecting my Dad much more than ever...
But what do you think if, just if, Vadivelu's character was not there, or not played by Vadivelu..?
IMO, I think the movie would have been just OK, at best.
Vadivelu completely changed the dynamics of the movie, and he was simply briliant in it !
He almost stole thunder from Nasser...almost.

Not sure Joe. But they also enjoy films like 'Pasupathi Rasakka palayam'. May be - em magan didn't appeal to them. He wasn't complaining on Nasser's performance. lostangel, on the contrary it was Vadivelu who gained from EM, doing a role so unlike his earlier ones and which eventually gained him to Imsai Arasan prime role. I mean how many times do you want to see him bashed up?

Muniyandi opened yesterday and is now showing in 12 screens in Malaysia, including 4 shows in Colliseum. (Dasa 1 show)
As it is a Lotus 5 Star (local) production, the movie is only screened in Lotus cinemas.

Saw Muniyandi Film. It is a film with bits and pieces, like a cocktail of everything but all in the right mix.
What i can say is that it is a play of human emotions and ties in a commercial manner focussing on issues like caste. Watchable once and is meant for all sorts of audience especially family.

To add on the points.
* Bharath takes the film on its shoulders with his father(not sure who the actor is) a close second. Amazing show of expressions.
*The songs were enjoyable when seen with the film. BGM was apt for the film with a lot of synth ambience used. Vidyasagar understandably gave songs according to the director's request from this viewpoint.
*Vadivelu tries something new but seems to be doing the same old stuff although he does impress at places.
* As for the screenplay it is done in such a manner that they dunt bore you with sentiments or love or the main issue which is caste problem. They are given a interesting scene switch to move the movie.
* Climax was sort of predictable but good nevertheless.
* Film's strongest point was its characterization. Everyone fit in well.

The movie isnt that bad. It may sum up to that point but the screenplay has alot of twists and characterisation used to move the screenplay makes up for whatever "freshness" that is lacking.
I think the fella just smashed the movie the moment he saw that the movie had college romance and father-son sentiments. The thing though is they were present but minimalised in such a manner that the film is interesting.

However, do you seriously believe that Bharath would have instructed the half-boiled director for every thing ? I don't think so. If something has to be blamed, we should blame the entire team.
But hero slapping the heroine with chappal That is something I see in Simbu films. Has bharath too joined that list ? It is disgusting to read even. How the hell director agreed to include such a scene first of all ? His main audience are those who shed tears everyday in front of TV. He wouldn't have done it. Did he really direct it this time ?
