I didn't like Simbhu at all. But I was surpriced by Simbu's talent in "Manmadhan." He did the Story, Screenplay, etc, many ezines have also stated that he had done Proxy Direction in the movie. It was a good watch. Had a good run @ the BO also. After Manmadha, Kalai Puli Thaanu's Thotti Jeya has also gotten fair reviews, and a good run at the Box Office. What do u think about his next project "Vallavan" ? Starring Reema Sen and Nayanthara. Cool

Here is a news stating that Simbu approached Tennis Star 'Sania Mirza' to act in Vallavan as one of the heroines, by offering some crores as salary (producer money thaan) but Sania refused that she has no idea of acting in movies and her only ambition in Tennis. Same like that some Hindi, Telugu producers also approached her and got same answer 'NO'. Here is the link:

A humble request to all of them including Simbu thambi. There are somany girls available who are all suitable for your cinema. But even if your whole cine industry try, YOU CANT MAKE A TENNIS STAR like SANIA MIRZA, who is bringing credits to our Nation.

Please leave her in her own career to succeed better, dont try to make her as 'paththodu pathinondru' by showing your crores.

On one hand, Islamic extremists are after her blood for wearing short skirts. On the other, people accuse her of devoting more time to advertisements than her game. Caught as she is in the middle, a journalist asked her if she would act in films.

That was it! A cyclone hit us.

"Even though I have attained 31st ranking, I still do not have proper sponsors. I need nearly 3 crores a year for expenses pertaining to travel, accommodation and buying accessories. I have to earn these only through advertisements. I spend only about 25 days in the year to shoot for advertisements." With red face, Sania directed her angry glance in the direction of the policeman who stood guard.

"For the tennis match in Kolkata, 1500 police were deployed as security. I am a sports person. Making me into a celebrity gives me many a headache."

Only recently has Simbu taken it as a challenge to get Sania to co-star with him in his latest film. So, the issue is quite new and Sania responded in a nose-cut to a question about Simbu.

"I have no idea that there is an actor named Simbu. So, I wonder from where these gossips start. My only aim is to make a name for myself in tennis. I have made a lot of sacrifices for that from an early age. Acting never even entered my mind."

Simbu's been bowled out in the first ball itself. Cricket is a luckier game for him!

`Vallavan` in December?

After more than a month, the next schedule for Vallavan has resumed in Chennai with Simbu and his three heroines- Reema Sen, Nayantara and Sandhya.

P.L.Thenappan, the producer of Vallavan(see pic) is pleading, cajoling and threatening Simbu who is also the director to finish the shoot in this schedule as the budget has already gone haywire. They say that Simbu does not have a bound script and keeps changing it now and then which means cost overrun.

Thenappan�s distributors have also started questioning the viability of the project as they feel that even though Manmathan was a hit, it was not a profitable venture for its producer Krishnakanth who is still struggling to come out with his next film Solli Adippen.

So in a desperate move, Thenappan has announced through newspaper ads that Vallavan will release in December! At the moment it looks next to impossible as only 60 percent of the shoot is complete!

Wow, Vallavan in December? I hope that Vallavan is a hit for the sake of the Producer. Simbhu is in a good position now with Manmadhan and Thotti Jeya which have become hits.

Vallavan�s action sequences have been completed. The next schedule for shooting commences today. A giant set of a hospital has been erected at Prasad Studios for this purpose. Simbu is going all out to ensure the success of Vallavan for which he is also the director. As there are many songs in the film, he has decided to use locations of different type for each song.

Simbu�s Vallavan and Saravana release postponed

Simbu's Saravana under K.S.Ravikumar a remake of Badhra from Telugu had given an appealing touch and is completed very fast. The directors and producers appreciated Simbu for the fast performance and both the films were to be released by December.

But the latest decision is that Saravan will be released only next year on the auspicious pongal day and Vallavan only by April. Currently Simbu is busy with Vallavan shooting and song sequences are going on at AVM studios. Two good project of Simbu is only for 2006.

The Little Super Star Simbu is in full fledge directing his first movie Vallavan. The movie has three sizzling heroines such as Nayantara, Sandhya and Reema Sen. Recently, the shooting for the movie took place in AVM Studios. They were shooting for a fight sequence and stunt master Kanal Kannan asked the director what kind of fight he required. The whole unit was stunned on hearing Simbhu�s ideas. He said that there should not be any rope lift, no breaking of glasses or furniture, the fight should be realistic as well as the fight should look flamboyant when the movie is being watched the audience. Not only in fight sequences, he is coming out with implausible ideas for the movie. So, Vallavan will be a different genre to watch on screens.

Silambarasan is a talented youngster as was evident from his slick screenplay in the super hit Manmadhan. This emboldened him to take on the mantle of direction in Vallavan. Despite the snags, the production is moving on. We are however told that Simbu is quite realistic about his future course depending on the outcome of Vallavan.

if the film is a hit, he will pursue direction; otherwise, he will be content just to act. He has however decided to do four films in a year as the hero. Saravana, under K. S. Ravikumar�s direction, is almost complete and work will soon start on S.J. Suryah�s A/C. After this film, he will be working in a Telugu film also. Therefore, his band of assistants are busy seeing new scripts.

There were articles published on Galatta.com and other publications that Vallavan will be released only in April 2006, but those rumours have now been laid to rest by the producers of the film. This film is slated to be released in early 2006. Vallavan has Simbu with three heroines Nayantara, Sandhya and Reema Sen and is much awaited. Also, Vallavan is likely to be released before Saravana in which Simbu has paired up with Jothika.

In spite of his busy schedule, actor-director Silambarasan manages time to sing playback in films. A trained singer, he has recently sung a song for Githan fame Ramesh for his movie Nee Venunda Chellam. The song was set to tunes by Dheena.

When Dheena made a request to Silambarasan to render the song, he immediately accepted his request and completed the recording in just a day.

Meanwhile Silambarasan is gearing up for the release of his films Saravana directed by K S Ravikumar and his debut directorial venture Vallavan.

Ajith�s thirupathi at Prasad studio

The art director and the crew is busy working out a set at Prasad studio for the Ajith staring film Tirupathi, which is directed by Perarasu in the banner of A.V. M. This is something quite new for A.V.M as it is the first time they are approaching another studio for the set.

The village atmosphere has to be brought out in the setting and all arrangements are going on in a quick pace. A shopping place, a big temple, and a 80 ft statue of Lord Shiva has to be erected and shooting inthese scenes are to take place at the earliest.

I too liked to watch Simbhu movies for mostly the title song...usually they're energized and up-lifting with fast choreography...but besides that I have only liked Simbhu's acting in Manmadhan...though towards the middle i was ok i see where this is going to go...

but for some parts in Totti Jaya he actually showed some skill (imho anyways) ...so I hope this is not another go at the same story that made him big in Manmadhan....hope it's something original...well w'ell see won't we?

I just saw the trailer for Vallavan...

He changes getup, has sex with Nayantara twice, smooches on Reema Sen, goes on violent rampage.

Bottom line: A mix of an 80s porn movie with shades of Manmadhan/Totti Jaya tossed in.
