I agree that this list is accurate...And realize that it is box office wise...in terms of acting and dishing out engrossing/entertaining films...Surya will probably be above Vijay though...but Vijay's acting is entertaining nevertheless...

when trying to be neutral, favourtism should never be a cause. I don't think you were neutral there. pointing out Ajith's acting but what about vijay? not neutral. u like it or not, Ajith is a better actor than vijay, admit it.
vijay dance well in the list that put up there. then you say Ajith's -ve is also his dance. why didn't I see that for vikram or surya? Ajith dances at least better than them. his some of recent films weren't good but vijay's film were also not that good. not an A and v fight but be neutral when raking.

I m not biased but i m neutral again, I cant expect more than from u because you are Ajith fan.
You talk about onlt dance which is a big + for Vijay ofcourse and it is a big - for Ajith.If you want to compare with Vikram and Surya..Ajith&Vijay needs to grow up ..Dance is the only department you are looking at?But Vikram,Surya overtakes Aith and Vijay in lot of other departments.Thats why i didn mention about their dance.
Fan clubs are the main reason for the success of Ajith and Vijay.
Only thing you cant tolerate that in my ranking Vijay is ahead of Ajith..Let it be..because its my personal perception.I found Vijay is better than Ajith at present.I dont care about histories,number of hits or flops because i m not a die hard fan of Vijay.But i prefer Vijay in some cases..Some lively actions,Humour,Enjoyment..thats all an audience need.You cant expect performances like Kamalji or Vikram in Vijay movies..all his recent movies are branded commercial.He is not promising that he is going to change his get-ups or so, he is acting wht he knows.Then why the hell you want to compare your TALENTED ajith with Vijay and degrading your star?
Once again i don say that Ajith is a worse actor or so.Indeed i was amazed by his acting in Valee,Mugavaree and Amarkalam thats all. THATS ALL.He is a gud actor,

For box office collections, better openings, Past hits not only the heroes are responsible. There are several other factors will come into picture over here.

`Ultimate star` Ajit is the actor with the best opening in Kollywood after Rajnikanth. And now he has even got an opening for the audio of his new film! His Tirupati audio which hit the music shops early on Tuesday (March 14) morning were sold like hot vadas!
According to a spokesperson of a leading music shop : “We were taken aback with the crowd that had come to buy the audio of Tirupati in the morning and by evening we had to place more orders with the audio company”!
Added Sanjay Wadhwa of AnAK audio who are marketing Tirupati: “Yes, the audio sales has taken a great opening and we have already started getting repeat orders as dealers have demanded for more, which has not happened in recent times”. Wadhwa refused to give figures on the sales as to how many cassettes were sold.
The music of Bharadwaj is typical mass masala type. The introductory song ( shot in typical Perarsu style) “Tirupati Vandha….” sung by Shankar Mahadevan was screened for the audience at AVM preview theatres. Out of the six songs all five are fast numbers which are sure to please Ajit fans.
Ajit was the connoisseur of all eyes at the launch with his Latino looks in a blue jeans, white shirt and ponytail. :P Director Perarasu, Sada, Bharadwaj , AVM Saravanan and his son Guhan were also present at the audio launch.

'Nothing to do with sentiments but it has brought me the desired luck. In a team work there has to be give-and-take. Director Seeman put in a lot of home work to implement the idea he had conceived. The story developed in a huge form on a much higher plane than we visualised. It was literally a test of my character (Thondaman Thambi) with Seeman fine-tuning it.'
Madhavan still seemed to be in a trance rewinding the days of an experience he would be too happy to live with it for the rest of his life. 'When I slipped into the character it was possible to do it without batting the eyelid. Honestly, it was something I could not manage it while dubbing. Seeman's idea sounded fine but I had my doubts of carrying it. As it turned out, it was a master stroke.'
How did he manage so much of venom in his body language giving it a colour and the larger-than-life image to the character? 'It was Seeman's way of giving the character a rugged look with a long mane. A fascinating experience to do a film with rich Tamil dialects. Once I got to know the director's expectations, it was easier to deliver. Mani Ratnam made me act in Alai Payudheand here too Seeman seemed to know exactly how to get the best out of me.'
Ideally, Madhavan would like to do not more than four films in a calendar year. 'Has put on hold a fleet of Hindi offers after RDB. When you get a quality role, one should smell it. Not having had a good time in Hindi films, sceptics wondered if I had rush of blood. But the silence is only golden now,' 'Madhavan said with contentment all over his face.
Having smelled a double success, 'Maddy' is keen to retain the flavour for some time. 'Good script getting the sheen from a director who knows his onions make a world of difference. Sending across a message with simplicity, substance and with some style do make my day.'

But again Only if the movie is good, mallus will prefer the movie. IF a movie without these stars releases, the run ultimately depends on the content, direction and the overall presentation. IN that way, the truth is SURYA is for more successful than any other star in the recent years. About vikram - Can anyone quote any other movie apart from Anniyan ?

Plot summary for Kartoos (1999)

Not because he did a lot of mallu films, but because, his films generally matches their wavelength as it has good acting and better storyline - they claim it to be a welcome relief from lalettan/mammookha.

Moreover, I don't care what people claim/like. I have my own reasons for rating X, Y and Z. I don't believe in Argument ad populum. I don't go for number games or box office success. So, It's not my forte and style to counter what people quote from sites. If I do, it would be really "stupid" in the first place.
As it doesn't serve the purpose - they would either take it personal and hold a grudge against me for nothing * but to talk against their favorite star*.
About this whole fight over facts/figures -
1) Producer/distributor/star don't release the crude facts/numbers. Reason - tax benefits. Especially actors don't disclose their salaries and claim they are the highest paid. The Crew will give a vague outline. They make sure that the film makes vibrations all around. As long as they achieve that, they are okay with it. These figures are confidential and never revealed blatantly. It does leak out at times.
2) Media will hype a film like Sivaji. Coz it serves the interest of many Rajini fans who would be surfing for news about their favorite star's film. So, wrong exaggerated figures would sell easily as long as the fans are happy.
3) Reviews - Even an acclaimed reviewer would/could recommend a crappy movie. For example, Ebert loves QT and Sam peckinpah, more than Sergio leone and Fincher - adukunnu Ebert 'kenna p*ndai'-nu solla mattaen. :P I agree with him sometimes and I don't agree with him other times. Avlo daan. But he is not credible and reliable ALWAYS.
Same with Rajini fans - I don't agree with their views/hype, related to Rajini because I disagree and think otherwise. Adukkunu, I don't have anything against them. Maybe I shouldn't taunt him and his fans - but anyway, I haven't done that in the HUB.
Bad experience(in the past) have created some kind of 'hatred' / 'prejudice' against his fans in general. so, in this matter, I tend to generalize his fans. But I'm okay with them otherwise - with stuff not related to Rajini.
You might wonder why I'm typing all this - well, this is my stance over this whole issue.
Started to watch "all about Eve" - But out of interest, inga yenna nadakudu-nu paakka vandaen.. this whole place irks the heck out of me, But I can't get the heck out of here. What the heck!
