This prompted Vaiko to remark yesterday that in the next Assembly elections too, his party wouldn’t bother if the DMDK manages the second position. Now Vijayakanth seems to have grown wiser. He has expressed his willingness (?) to consider alliance with Congress, provided of course the latter makes the first move. His statements only prove that he is still immature in the art of real politics as against reel politics. This is the era of coalition politics. Even national parties like the Congress, the BJP and the leftists and major Regional players like the DMK and the AIADMK had long back appreciated the value of a coalition. This week's Ananda Vikatan has published a survey comparing Vijay with Vijayakanth in political terms. Around 2000 people participated in the survey. ரஜினிகாந்தும் விஜயகாந்தும் ரஜினிகாந்த் தமிழ் சினிமாவில் அதிரடி ஆட்டம் போட்டு கொண்டிருந்த போது, விஜயகாந்த் மதுரையில் அவருடைய அரிசி மில்லில் விரலாலயே மூட்டையை குத்தி அரிசி தரம் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். ‘ஆசை அறுபது நாள்’ படத்தின் 50வது நாள் விழாவிற்கு மதுரை வந்த ரஜினியை பாதுகாப்பாக கவனித்தவர் அப்போதைய விஜயராஜ். அவ்விழாவில் சினிமா நட்சத்திரங்களை பாதுகாத்த விஜயராஜை பாராட்டிய ரஜினி, அவரிடம் சொன்னது - “நீங்க பார்க்குறதுக்கு என்னை மாதிரியே இருக்கீங்க விஜி!” மதுரையில் விநியோகஸ்தராக இருந்த மர்சூக், ரஜினியை வைத்து ஒரு படம் எடுக்க எண்ணியிருந்தார். அவரோ ரொம்ப பிஸியாக இருக்க, கால்ஷீட் கிடைக்காத சூழ்நிலை. ரஜினி போல் இருக்கும் விஜயராஜை நடிக்க வைத்தால் என்ன? என்று ஒரு எண்ணம் அவருக்கு வந்தது. விஜயராஜும் ஒத்துக்கொண்டார். ஆனால், ஒரு கட்டத்தில் அந்த படத்தை கைவிடும் நிலையாகிவிட்டது. பிறகு, சென்னையில் ஒருமுறை ரஜினியை ப்ரியா படப்பிடிப்பில் மர்சூக்கும் விஜயராஜும் சந்தித்தார்கள். விஜயராஜை திரும்பவும் ரஜினியிடம் அறிமுகப்படுத்திய மர்சூக்கிடம், ரஜினி சிரித்தப்படியே கேட்டது - “அட அச்சு அசலா என்னை மாதிரியே இருக்குறாரே? எனக்கு போட்டியை உருவாக்குறீங்களா?” அச்சமயம், விஜயராஜுக்கு ஒரு படத்தில் நடிக்க வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தது. படத்தின் பெயர் ‘என் கேள்விக்கென்ன பதில்?’. படத்தின் ஹீரோ ரஜினி. விஜயராஜுக்கு கிடைத்த கேரக்டர், ரஜினியின் தம்பி. ஷூட்டிங் ஆரம்பித்து, நாலு நாட்களிலே விஜயராஜ் படத்தில் இருந்து தூக்கப்பட்டார். உண்மைக்காரணம் என்னவோ? ஆனால், ’தமிழ் ஒழுங்கா பேசலை’ என்பது அதற்கு சொல்லப்பட்ட காரணம். அப்புறம் விஜயராஜ் ஊருக்கு திரும்பி சென்று, சில காலம் கழித்து மறுபடியும் வாய்ப்பு தேடி சென்னை வந்து, ஆல்பமும் கையுமாக சுற்றியலைந்தார். ஆல்பம் முழுக்க ரஜினி ஸ்டைலில் ஸ்டில்ஸ். ஆல்பத்தை கண்டவர்கள் கேட்டது - ‘கறுப்பா இருந்துட்டா மட்டும் ரஜினி ஆயிட முடியுமா?’. ஒரு வழியா வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்து ’இனிக்கும் இளமை’ என்ற படத்துல் நடித்து விட்டார். படத்தின் இயக்குனர் எம்.ஏ.காஜா, அவருக்கு ‘அம்ருதராஜ்’ என்று பெயர் வைத்து பத்திரிக்கையாளர்களிடம் அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார். சில பத்திரிக்கையாளர்கள், ‘இந்த பேரு சரி இல்லைங்க. பார்க்க ரஜினி மாதிரி இருக்காரு. ரஜினிகாந்த் ரேஞ்சுக்கு ஒரு பேரு வைங்க’ என்றதால், அப்போதே எம்.ஏ.காஜா அவருக்கு விருச்சிககாந்த், சாரி, விஜயகாந்த் என்று பெயர் வைத்தார். அப்புறம் என்ன நடந்தது என்றுதான் தெரியுமே? இப்ப, விஜய்க்கு பிடிக்காட்டி விஷாலுக்கு கதை சொல்ல இயக்குனர்கள் செல்வது போல், அப்போது ரஜினியால் நடிக்க இயலாத படங்களில் இயக்குனர்களின் ஒரே சாய்ஸ் - விஜயகாந்த். விறுவிறுவென வெற்றிகளைக் கொடுத்து, ரஜினி இருந்த அதே முன்னணி நடிகர்களின் வரிசைக்கு வந்தார். நடிகர் சங்க நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் பங்குகொண்டு நடிகர் சங்க தலைவரானார். ’நான் எப்போ வருவேன், எப்படி வருவேன்னு யாருக்கும் தெரியாது. ஆனா வரவேண்டிய நேரத்திலே கரெக்டா வருவேன்’ என்று ரஜினி டிமிக்கி கொடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்த போது, விஜயகாந்த் ‘நான் இப்போ வருவேன், அப்போ வருவேன், நேரா வருவேன், சைடுலே எட்டிப்பார்ப்பேன்னுல்லாம் சொல்லமாட்டேன். கண்டிப்பா வருவேன்.’ என்று தடாலடியாக அரசியலில் நுழைந்தார். ரஜினி தனது ரசிகர்கள் தனது படத்தை தேர்தலில் பயன்படுத்தியபோது, அதற்கு தடைவிதித்தார். விஜயகாந்தோ, கண்டுக்கொள்ளவில்லை. சுயேட்சையாகவே, அவரது ரசிகர்கள் உள்ளாட்சி தேர்தலில் வெற்றி பெற்றார்கள். கட்சி ஆரம்பித்து, கொஞ்ச காலத்திலேயே நடந்த தேர்தலிலும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க ஓட்டு சதவிகிதத்தை பெற்றார். தொடர்ந்து படங்களிலும் நடித்தார். படங்களில் நடித்தாலும், விஜயகாந்தின் முழு பார்வையும் அரசியலில் தான். இந்நேரத்தில் ‘அரசியல், சினிமா - இரண்டு குதிரையிலும் திறமையாக சவாரி செய்கிறார் விஜயகாந்த்’ என்று ஒரு மேடையில் ரஜினி பாராட்டியிருந்தார். ஆனால், அரசியலில் இறங்கிய பிறகு, விஜயகாந்தின் எந்த படமும் ஓடவில்லை என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. கறுப்பு எம்.ஜி.ஆர். என்று சொல்லிக்கொள்கிற விஜயகாந்துக்கு ஏன் இன்னமும் எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கு கிடைத்தது போல் பெரும் ஆதரவு கிடைக்கவில்லை. யாருக்குக்கிட்ட கேட்க? ரஜினி என்ன சொல்கிறார்? ரஜினியிடம், ஒரு ரசிகர் அரசியல் வெற்றி பற்றி கேட்ட கேள்விக்கு சொன்ன பதில் - ‘அதுக்கு பெருந்துணையா இருப்பது நேரமும், சூழலும்.’ தன் ரசிகராக இருந்த ஒருவர், சினிமாவிற்கு வந்து, உச்சத்தை அடைந்து, பிறகு வீழ்ச்சியைக் கண்ட பிறகும், முன்பிருந்தது போல் தொடர்ந்து சூப்பர் ஸ்டாராக இருப்பது ரஜினியின் சாதனை. அரசியலில் ஈடுபட சகல தகுதிகளும் கொண்ட தன் அபிமான நடிகரே தயங்கும் போது, தைரியத்துடன் இறங்கி ஆரம்பத்திலேயே ஒரளவுக்கு வெற்றியும் பெற்றது, விஜயகாந்தின் சாதனை. --- விஜயகாந்த் பற்றிய புத்தகத்தில் நம்ம யுவகிருஷ்ணா (எ) லக்கிலுக், விஜயகாந்தின் சிறுவயது காலம் முதல் தற்போதைய அரசியல் முகம் வரை அவருக்கே உரிய பாணியில் எழுதியிருக்கிறார். படிப்பவர்களுக்கு தாவூ தீராது, டவுசர் கிழியாது என்பது உத்தரவாதம். விஜயகாந்த பற்றி எழுதிய இந்த புத்தகத்தை ஆசிரியர் சமர்ப்பித்து இருப்பது, கலைஞருக்கும் புரட்சித்தலைவிக்கும். புத்தகத்தின் ஆரம்பத்தில் ஆசிரியர் விஜயகாந்திற்கு கொடுத்திருக்கும் எண்ட்ரி, இதுவரை எந்த படத்திலும் அவருக்கு கிடைத்திராதது. விஜயகாந்த் பற்றி வந்த தொடர்கள், புத்தகங்கள், செய்திகளிலிருந்து கிடைத்த தகவல்களை கொண்டு சிறப்பான நடையில் வந்திருக்கும் இப்புத்தகம், அவருடன் நெருங்கி பழகியவர்களின் பேட்டிகளின் துணைக்கொண்டு வந்திருந்தால் இன்னும் வேறு சில பரிணாமங்களை தந்திருக்குமோ? சினிமாவில் ஏறத்தாழ இறுதிக்கட்டத்தை நெருங்கிவிட்டாலும், விஜயகாந்த் அரசியலில் ஆரம்பக்கட்டத்தில் தான் இருக்கிறார். சினிமாவில் பெற்ற வெற்றியை அரசியலில் பெற விஜயகாந்திற்கும், அதை பற்றியும் புத்தகம் எழுத யுவகிருஷ்ணாவிற்கும் வாழ்த்துக்கள். புத்தகம் வாங்க இங்கே செல்லவும். |

These 2 have completed 49 films, highest among the current generation of actors. Maanagara Kaaval & Moontrezhuthil En Moochirukkum ... (101 & 102).. His next release in 1992 -- Chinna Gounder (103) ... the year when Vijay & Ajith started their career.... VK might have had some / many failures.. & I bet u, all his 50 films are not like sathyaraj type c centre masalas.. he does the prominent role in case of friendly appearance or else he is the main character.. also remember that.. he lost his good physique in this period & he was into his 40's & 50's currently 57 completed

I did not feel like laughing at Vijaykanth during any part of the movie. He fits the character to perfection. I genuinely liked him in the movie, one of his finest perfomances alongside intelligent movies like Ramana.
