Hi there..
The chicken ( refrigerated ) which is sold in the superstores, when used for making chicken curry or in biriyani doesnt taste like the ones available in India.
Is there a remedy to make it taste better ?
cheers

Whole chicken cut up tastes better than buying thighs or chicken breast. You can get the chicken from halal meat shops (if you dont mind the insanitary conditions). You could also get a whole chicken and cut it yourself. This is more work but definitely worth it

Hello david!
What is exactly wrong with the Poultry from these countries?
My guess is they are raised a little differently than the Indian ones. It could also be an issue of genetically modified foods.
However, stick to grain fed chickens and yes as kav has mentioned buy whole chickens.
One way to handle with the awful smell is to blanch the chicken in boiling water for a minute with lemon rind, a couple of green cardamom, cinnamon and cloves.
