hi i want to know the receips of chettinad sweets

Chettinad sweets are a little difficult to prepare if you have not seen anyone preparing it and are just following a recipe.....But I will post a simple recipe for "kalkandu vadai".
Urad dal : 1 cup
any long grain rice/ pacharisi : 1 tblspn
kalkandu : 1 cup
oil : to deep fry
salt : one pinch (this will sharpen the taste of the vadai, make it sweeter)
Soak the dal along with the rice for an hour and drain the water. Grind the dal along with kalkandu and salt without adding water. Heat oil. Smear your hands / polythene sheet with oil and form the vadai's . Please don't use water to form the vadai's. Now deep fry them. See to that the oil is not very hot or else it will cook on the outside and the inside will be raw....Enjoy!!
