can anubody tell me how to make badam halva

Ingredients
Badam - 1 cup, Milk - 11/4 cup, Ghee - 1 cup, sugar - 1 cup, Elaichi& saffron as required. Soak the badam in water for abt 4 hours. then remove the skin and grind it smoothly in a mixie. Donot add water add milk to it while grinding. Put the ground badam in a non stick pan add the rest of the milk and sugar and mix well. Powder the elaichi and add to it. Keep the mixer in the gas and simmer the gas and allow it to cook. Keep on stirring and as u stir add ghee little by little. Continue until the badam is cooked well. add food colour if required(Yellow will be good). As the halwa comes out without sticking in the vessel add saffron and remove from heat. Spread in a greasy plate and can be served when it is little warm. Try and let me know. I make this regularly (that is once in 2 months)

Hello Sujatha,
There is anothe method of Making Halwa from Badham or Cashew.
I think I have given the method in my SWEET CHARIOT.
Try that out also.

there is also another way of preparing badam halwa.
soak one cup of badam in water and peal off the skin. while grinding it without water add 1/4 cup of cashews. after grinding cook it in kadai with 3/4 cup of butter. and add 1 cup of sugar. cook till the halwa does not stick to the kadai and the ghee just comes out of the halwa.
it is very yummy.

Holy Moses!! What is the quantity of Badam for one cup of elaichi & Saffron ?? It would cost an arm and a leg for this Badam Halwa !!

Hi Sam Read properly it is not one cup of elaichi & saffron. It is 1 cup of sugar and elaichi & saffron as desired.
