are you talking about microwave oven or conventional oven?
if its micro'oven , then i can say you are not missing much-its not healthy.
use the conventional oven or stove to heat up food- it may take time but its worth it. even frozen food you can use conven.oven.

Geetha-
Buy the small toaster oven, which sells for $20 or less. It can warm up much faster than the big conventional oven. You will save energy if you have to warm up or thaw small quantities of food.

There is no alternate for a microwave oven. Avoid its usage for cooking purposes. Personally, I think it should best be put for heating up foods.

Pressure cooker can be used instead of a MW oven.
1. Place the food you want to heat/cook in a steel vessel, cover it with another steel plate.
2. Add a little amount of water in the Pressure cooker base.
3. Place the food vessel inside the cooker.
4. Close the cooker lid, put on the wait, turn on the flame.
5. After a few minutes, (this 'minutes' depends on the food you are cooking or how cold the food was before you started reheating) turn off the flame.
6. When it is safe to remove the wait, remove it and open the lid.
Dried foods like stale bread, chapptis, idlis etc. will get a soft texture and will be fresh when you heat in this manner. Apart from steel vessels, you can place the plastic microwave boxes (only if they are strong and not flimsy) in the cooker and heat for a short period of time without melting it.

You may try an induction stove, which is radiation free, energy efficient, absolutely safe.soon we shall come out with a solar version of the same where by you don't even need any energy for cooking

What is the difference in method of cooking between microwave and oven? seems microwave uses some radioactive waves which makes food carcinogenic. I use microwave only for reheating and boiling milk. can we use oven for reheating instead ? if yes how to do it. Please advice.
