Can somebody post sweet recipes made out of china grass?

  I know only two recipes made out of china grass.
  1. China grass Halwa
  2. China grass payasam or kheer.
  
  Right now I don't have time to type the recipes. I'll when I find time and if by then no one has posted.

  Yes, it is a type of gelatin. I used to enjoy desserts made out of china grass from my friend's homes. I thought it is a type of grass growing in the soil. When I checked in the store to buy it and prepare my own, I found that it is not a natural thing and it is a bipolymer or something, so I didn't buy. Is it good for health? Do anybody know?

  Agar Jelly
  
  Put 1/2 ounce agar agar to soak in water for 30 minutes. Drain and add 2 cups boiling water. Let boil gently for about 10 minutes, or until clear. Strain through a fine strainer or cheesecloth and keep hot until ready for use. The jelly should measure 2 cups.
  
  Orange Jelly
  
  1 cup orange juice
  6 tablespoons lemon juice
  1/2 cup water
  2/3 cup sugar
  2/3 cup vegetable jelly
  
  Dissolve the sugar in the fruit juice and water, and add the hot jelly. Mix well, pour into wetted molds, and let set.
  
  Lemon Jelly
  
  1/2 cup lemon juice
  3/4 cup sugar
  1-1/4 cups water
  2/3 cup vegetable jelly
  
  Mix and mold the same as the foregoing.
  
  Berry Mold
  
  1-1/2 cups juice from stewed and sweetened berries
  1/2 cup sugar
  4 tablespoons lemon juice
  2/3 cup vegetable jelly
  
  Mix and mold the same as orange jelly.
  
  Fruit Jelly
  
  Arrange a nice assortment of fresh or cooked fruits, well drained, in a glass bowl. Take 1-3/4 cups light-colored fruit juice, add 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1/4 cup strawberry or loganberry juice, and sweeten to taste. Add 2/3 cup vegetable jelly, mix well, and pour over the fruit in the dish. Let set and serve.

  Sweet Corn Jelly
  
  Ingredients: :
  For syrup, bring to boil and strain:
  100ml water
  100g gula Melaka (Brown sugar)
  50g castor sugar
  1 pandan leaf - knot
  
  Bottom layer
  600ml water
  2 tbsp agar-agar powder
  50ml thick coconut milk
  1/4 tsp salt
  100ml UHT milk
  
  For top layer:
  125g castor sugar
  50ml water
  1 1/2 tsp agar-agar powder
  200ml thin coconut milk
  100g cream-style sweet corn
  50ml UHT milk
  
  To make bottom layer
  Put agar-agar powder and water in a pot and bring to a low boil. Add strained syrup, salt and thick coconut milk. Bring to a boil, then add the milk and turn off the heat immediately. Pour into a wet mould. Leave aside to semi-set.
  
  To make top layer
  Combine sugar, water and agar-agar powder and bring to a boil. Add coconut milk and sweet corn, and stir well. Lastly, add milk. Pour mixture over half-set bottom layer. Leave aside to cool then chill well before serving.

  Agar Agar (china grass) is made from
  sea weed and is very healthy for you.
  The china grass that comes as long strings
  tastes better than the powdered one.
  
  Agar Agar jelly recipe :
  
  2 hand full of Agar Agar strings.
  3/4 cup sugar
  2 cups water
  red food coloring - 2 drop
  rose water : 2 Tbsp
  
  Soak two handful of Agar Agar strings in 2 cups of
  hot water for half an hour. Then bring the water
  and Agar Agar to boil. boil for 10 minutes or
  till the agar agar is dissolved. Now add sugar and dissolve it. Take the pot off the stove
  and add rose water and two drop of red food coloring. Now pour it in a big pan and let it set
  for 1 hour. After that cut it in diamond shapes(like burfi) and serve.
  
  You can make the above recipe with milk too.
  After soaking the agar agar in hot water, drain
  it and boil it with 2 cups of milk, proceed as

  Halal; As far Agar agar is concerned it is halal as it does not come from animal source like pig. Well halal is any food which is not prohabited in islam or from prohabited food source, in case of regular jelly which comes from animal source can be cow or pig, making it halal or haram.

  For those who are interested in Agar gelly desserts (or sweets), there is easy way to get them now. There are commercially available dessert mix "DoFu Delight(r)" which comes in flavors of Almond, Mango, Strawberry, Honeydew and Coconut. You should be alble to fine them easily in any major Oriental suppermarkets.
