dhal sidedishes for chappathi

hi,
pls give me some good recipes for chappathi using dhals ,like masoor dhal,thuvar dhal , moong dhal. and also rajma,black eye bean etc, if someone knows pls help

cook in the cooker for more taste.
take 1 cup of masoor dhal
add 2/3 green chillies according to your taste
add 1 big onion
add 1 teaspn haldi (turmeric powder)
put salt and one cup water.
cook and close the gas after 3 whistles
when it is cook take a spoon and mix and smash it thoroughly and put add according to your requirement .
for chapathi it should be little thick and for rice it should not be thick.
at last while putting water boil it by putting some corrainder leaves
seasoning :
oil , lasson (garlic) and Jeera, Curry Leaves.
Its very tasty dal i have learned by my Mother in Law

Hi Charulatha,
Here's a simple recipe for moong dhal,
Take 1 cup( 180 ml approx.) of moong dhal, wash it throughly and add just enough water to cover the dhal and pressure cook it and keep aside. take 2 tsp of oil in a pan and season it with mustard seeds, urad dhal, bengal gram dhal and few cuury leaves. Then add 2 - 3 green chillies/ according to ur taste and 1 cup/ 1 medium sized of thinly sliced onions and saute it for few mins till onions becomes transparent. Now add 1/2 cup of tomatoes/ 1 and 1/2 tomatoes approx. cut in to medium pieces and saute for few more mins and then add the cooked dhal with enough water and salt. Let it simmer for few mins, till all the ingredients blend together. Finally add some chooped coriander leaves and put off fire. The prepared dhal should not be watery nor too thick. It's very quick and tasty dish for chappathi, u can give it a try!

This is a recipe for dal fry from Damu's cook book, and is very tasty...
Take equal quantities of tuvar, masoor, channa and moong dals (about 2 handfuls each). Wash and soak for 10 mins. Then pressure cook until well cooked. Mash with hand beater and reserve.
In 2 tsps ghee/oil, fry 1 medium onion,finely chopped, until pink. Make a thin paste of chilly powder, haldi powder and garam masala powder and add to onion. Fry for 1 min. Add mashed dal and salt to taste and simmer for 5-7 mins. Remove into serving dish.

Just before serving, do tadka of rai and jeera in little ghee/oil. When they burst, add finely chopped ginger*, finely chopped garlic*, 3 chopped green chillies, curry leaves. Fry for 10-15 seconds. Remove from flame and add juice of 1 lemon and 1 generous handful of chopped corriander. Fry for few seconds. Add to hot dal. Cover for 2-3 mins and serve with phulkas or rice.
This is a thick dal and good for 2-3 people. If you like it thinner, then it could even serve more people.
*I love ginger and garlic, so I add about 1 tbsp of each.
