Hi everybody
Here is the best way of tofu intake for especially fat reducers.
Tofu roti
Get tofu soft ones (not the firm ones). For two cups of wheat flour add one cup of tofu (soft) and knead the dough with required water in excess (if necessary). Keep it aside for atleast 1 hour (don't keep it for long as it may get rottened) and make rotis in tawa without oil. Or just make chukkas. Serve with some chutney. If one is very particular make tofu palak (with firm ones) and have. The best choice for the overweight personalities.

Make Palak Paneer using tofu !!
1. Spinach (one medium frozen pack or two kattu keerai washed and finely chopped) - Pressure cook this spinach with some masoor dal and little manjal podi.
2. Heat little ghee in kadai, cut tofu in paneer cube size, gently sqeeze water from it and fry it in ghee in medium heat. Keep aside.
3. In kadai, add oil, 2 onions (cut long) and garlic(3 pieces) cut into small pieces, fry a bit and then - add 2 or 3 tomatoes (cut long).
4. After this is cooked, blend both this and the cooked spinach in blender.
5. In a kadai, heat oil, jeera, green chillies, finely chopped onion (1 medium sized), manjal podi, dhania podi, garam masala...and fry...
6. Add the blended spinach and onion-tomato to it and let this cook for sometime in medium heat.
7. Add salt and red chilli powder to taste...and add the tofu pieces.
8. Let it get cooked in medium to low heat.
9. Finally squeeze some lemon and/or garnish with fresh cut onions if u wish !!

Hello,
Here is one of my favorites - Tofu Burger. It has been a staple in my home for a couple of years.
=======
Tofu Burger
1 packet firm tofu, drained
1 cup cooked channa or rajma dal
1 raw onion chopped finely
2-3 carrots finely grated
1 cup green beans finely chopped
Green chillies finely grated (as per taste)
Salt, black pepper to taste
1/4 cup parsely (or substitute cilantro or basil) finely chopped
2-3 tablespoons bread crumbs or wholewheat flour as binding.
Method:
Blend the dal and tofu to a coarse paste. transfer to bowl. Add all the other ingredients except flour/crumbs to it and mix thoroughly by hand.
Now shape into ball, sprinkle with a little crumbs or flour to bind the mass together and then flatten to a burger shape. Repeat until all the burgers have been shaped. Now freeze these patties by wrapping in wax paper. You can pull out enough number of them and grill them in your skillet using a little cooking oil spray like PAM (or oil if you are not watching the calories) whenever you need them. Add toppings like onion, tomato, ketchup, mustard, cucumbers, bell peppers, lettuce, cheese slices as you prefer. Or just forget the veggies, cheese and eat it on a whole wheat bun with plain ketchup. Knock yourself out!
The patties will keep for 3-4 months in the freezer. This is a highly nutritious meal, with high protein and ideal for the busy vegetarian. Kids will love it too.
(I have seen variations of this recipe using pinto beans, black beans etc.) Feel adventurous to experiment with the ingredients when you try this recipe.
I recommend that you use whole wheat buns or bread slices to assemble the burger.
I also recommend that you use olive oil to grill your burger.
Enjoy!

Hi
Here is another easy and fat free suggestion for tofu.
Slice hard tofu into 2cm thick slices.
Arrange it on a grill plate.
Mix 2 table spoons each of soy souce and vegetarian oyster sauce.
Brush sauce mixture on the tofu slices.
Grill it for 10 minutes then turn the slices, brush the sauce mixture and grill for another 10 minutes.
Let it cool and cut into cubes to use it in salads, stir fries and curries or use whole slices for sandwiches.

I made chicken kurma the other day replacing the coconut part with firm tofu and served to my guests. Everyone enjoyed it so much and nobody found out that I didn't use coconut at all. A very good substitute Still to try mor kulambu and aviayl with tofu.
