Hi, I have a problem storing large amounts of cilantro/mint/spinach/chilles. They turn brown and get all soggy and squishy. I dont know if there is a problem with my refrigerator temperature settings or if I should follow any specific procedure. Thanx.

Hi anurk,
all these you have mentioned are stored by me like this...try this.,
for cilantro, spinach and mint remove it from the cover which you brought from the shop, wrap it with two paper towels and than store it in a Ziplog bag,but you can't store more than a week or ten days.
for chillies as soon as you bring home, let it be for some time in the room temperature, than remove the stems and put it in a air tight container or ziblog bags. This will be for a month.
Still if you have problem than you have to look into your setting of the temp.
I think this will help u
Devi.

hi,i have seen a friend of mine do this. She washes the spinach leaves to clean the mud, then spreads them in a newspaper and keeps them under a fan or window till the water dries(1-2 hrs).then she locks them off in ziplock bags.curry leaves, coriander leaves etc can also be done this way.keep them on the topmost shelf of the refrigerator.this will stay for two weeks.
