Sometime back, I had read a small piece some where that CLEOPATRA was a Tamil girl with name KILIPATIRI.
This is a real possibility.Her habit of bathing in Donkey milk is uncommon to Egyptians but every Gounder in Tamilnadu makes the newborn babies drink Donkey milk because it has very good disease preventive properties.It is said to be very good for preserving youth and beauty.
Sailing to Egypt and Rome was common for Tamil sailors who traded in Diamonds and spices and other precious stones.
So KILIAPATIRI was introduced on the scene by this route and because of her dark beauty with an upturned nose became CLEOPATRAthe hot favourite of Romans.
I invite forum members to come forward with their views.
Ps.
If you notice in the painting of the Pharohas tombs , the loin cloth or vesty as worn by the Tamilians today, is similar to the cloth the Egyptians wore then with their bare bodies.

  I think cleopatra name itself is foreign to Egyptians.

  I don't know about kiliapatri :-)))) but I saw a movie sometime ago where one of Cleopatra's escape plans was to escape to India, not sure whether there is a historical basis to this.

  Observation by VASSAN IS RELEVENT.In actuality, this so called kiliapatri was equeted to a sweet talking parrot.I do remember this fact from an obscure article I read about more than two decades ago.
  Yes in olden days, it was a custom to use cow's urine and donkey's milk to cure diseases.
  Even today, gounders of salem and coimbatore region make the new born child to drink Donkey's milk as a powerful antidot to future diseases.
  Is it possible that Cleopatra was of
  such an origin?What I remember from that article was that she was a princess of a small kingdom in Tamilnadu.

  It was really amusing to read such a sight by accident.
  We Indians are ready to come to some drastic conclusion without any scientific study or other means.
