Easy Lasagna
8 oz. lasagna noodles (uncooked)
1 lb. ground beef, cooked and drained
1/2 lb. Italian sausage, cooked and drained
2 cups ricotta cheese
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 1/2 cups water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 cups spaghetti sauce (I use the kind that comes in jars)
Add spaghetti sauce to cooked ground beef and Italian sausage. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Add water, salt, seasoning, and sugar. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. In a 9X13" casserole dish that has been sprayed with PAM (or a small amount of cooking oil), layer 1/3 cup of the sauce, 1/2 of the uncooked lasagna, 1 cup ricotta cheese, 1/3 of the mozzarella. Repeat layers ending with sauce, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan. Cover TIGHTLY with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes. Remove the foil and brown the top. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes before serving.
May also be divided into two smaller baking dishes. I make one for us to eat now and freeze one.
