Folks, I wrote this when I was 21. I went through a real low in my life. The grief was unbearable. This made me write this poem. Then this girl walked into my life and my life simply changed.
LISTEN TO MY HEART CRY, MY DEAR, LISTEN TO MY HEART CRY !!!
Oh treacherous melancholy, be gone, may you die,
Listen to my heart cry, my dear, listen to my heart cry !
A lifeless life I lived, for a full eleven and ten,
Then you came my dear, made my heart your den.
My soul blushed unseen, my virgin heart screamed,
You are the one I dreamed, my dear, you are the one I dreamed !
Unfading ecstasy, in abundance you did bring,
Your gift of pure love, made life an eternal spring
A world of fantasies, my heart, a happy mutiny,
Sought you my destiny, my dear, sought you my destiny !
Sleepless nights I spend, daring the Queen of Night,
Her bold seductions fail, she learns to honour my plight,
A picture of jealousy, the lady leaves with a curse and frown,
Knowing my heart you own, my dear, knowing my heart you own !
My love to you, my Love, is like the ceaseless burning sun,
Whose true worth is shown, by the moon, the lovely one,
But the sparkle in your eyes, undying ever new,
The moon just envies you, my dear, the moon just envies you !
Your fragrance of love, my dear, makes everything seem so good,
Loving and being loved, I really understood,
So treacherous melancholy, be gone, may you die,
Listen to my heart cry, my dear, listen to my heart cry !
