Why does the world community hates Sardarjis?

We know that after the terrorist attacks in the US many sardarjis were attacked by the people of America. Though this problem was assumed to be improper identification of the Sikhs with the Arabs. But throughout the world there is a hatred for the Sardarjis and many North Indians. Many people from Philippines, HongKong, etc told me that this is because of their business of money lending with huge interest rates. Is there any other reason besides this?

I am a south Indian and I strongly oppose any Indian hating Sardarjis.
Sardarjis were and are the most patriotic people India has ever seen. They have sacrificed for ever, in the 1857 independence struggle, in the main fredom struggle. The point was that they obeyed any leader without thinking of anything else such as race or community.
When Aurangazeb started killing pandits in Kashmir, it was guru gobind singh who opposed him. Noone else had the courage to raise their voices for theire neighbours.
Even now the Indian army has majority opf officers from the Sikh community.
It is true that some thorns have risen in that flowery bush which are spoiling the name of the community on the whole.

Sikh people are like the symbol of storng people in india. Anyway I don't believe many sikh people were attacked cos of the NY tragedy. I know one sikh guy got killed after the NY incident but he was a gas station worker, and got killed at work. indian news media made this news a big issue. They said sikhs are gettin attacked by americans and bla bla. I just don't believe it.
