ah..yes Megham too..
But maybe a little less villainous there when compared to the ultimate 'paara vidvan' of Mukundetta..

Sreeni played a villain in "oru maruvathoor kanavu" along with Nedumudi Venu. This is one movie, that I liked Mamootys acting

yes Jo, Srinevaasan was really funny in that movie. he did almost same role in THENMAVIN KOMBATHU also. Mammotty was good too.

Hello all, have u forgotten the movie sandesam in which srini and jayaram were brothers and sreeni imitated a sakhavu ? He also scripted the movie and had quite a few takes on the communists as well as congress.all those comical takes r still valid.he talks to his boss in the party abt going to tmeples and the scene in which he goes to see a female for matrimonial is really sexy!!His whole expression and dialogue delivery was hilarious and definitely it ranks as one of his best scripts in malayalam.Thilakan too was a class apart in that film!!

Yeah, Raghu that was a great movie. lol..it was quite blatantly making fun of the left and Congress(the party called INSP - I think)
an interesting aspect is - that was yet another Sreeni/Sathyan Anthikad combiination..
I think Innocent as the 'national' leader was hilarious too..The last scene in which Thilakan throws out his sons from the home was brilliant! Only Thilakan, of all actors(incl Nedumudi, Madhu and other actors who do father roles) could have done it so well !!

Come to think of it, what we desperately need now are a few of such movies! I mean, movies with genuine humor-what we call 'narmabodham'! The sharpest arrows against the political pauperism are in the quiver of movies like Sandesham, and not in the typical movies doing the rounds nowadays, where Sureshgopi and Co shout hoarse against the politicians :)

Sreenivasan cannot be compared to big popcorn stars, and I can never look at him that way. He is a good writer who etches great characters and dialogues for some of the biggest directors, in addition to being a good actor.
I think he is an internationally articulate comedian that does situational comedy better than even Hollywood actors that work in the same range.
His advantage lies in the fact that he knows his range as an actor and I respect that. This is where even Mohanlal loses my respect in very few areas because of the uneven characters in flop films he has picked on recently, like Devadoothan, or even Sradha, among others.
As far as I say, he is in rank with Mohanlal or even better at comedy and maybe in some areas of drama(hmmmm? we'll wait to see).
peaces! Raj

okay guys isnt it really great that sreeni can write serious stuff too ? mazhayethum munpe got him the coveted screenplay award from state govt!yeah where padmarajan,Mt etc were there b4 him.
this guy is unique and no other guy in India can match him.Really pathetic that he is virtually unknown outside kerala and all those crappers like akshay kumar etc r known all over India.
Bur it sems he is right now suffering thro a writers block .Lets hope his coming movie with sathyan anthicaud(starring kunchacko and samyuktha) will again mark his come back.

Hey am I am bringing this thread back to life after a long time. Well, let there be life !!!
But do you guys remember Srini in some of the older and more obscure movies like Sanghagaanam and Panchavadippaalam (well, not so obscure, this one, of course)?
He used to have this hauntingly melancholy look about him...He used to have that 70s-typical step cut hair style...???
Again, another movie - was it Vellaanakalude Naadu - where he is a perseverent social worker or something and is stabbed to death in the end?
ALso, have y'all seen this film called - cant recall correctly - "Ormmakalude Anthyam" or something? He acts alongside a twirled-moustached Mammootty.
There is this mesmeric scene in which he is buried amidts a swarming pile of dead leaves...

2) was his father a writer???? is it possible to get a list of his films he has written. did he do 'nadodi kaattu'?

Hi,
I am trying to find a Sreenivasan movie... It is a movie in which he is a teacher, living with 3 others (one of whom is Jagadeesh). Anyhow, his friends set him up by sending anonymous love letters from a girl who happens to be a bank teller. At the climax he finds out that this is all a fake and gets beaten up by the town folk. At the end, however, he ends up getting married to that girl...
My problem is that I can never remember the name of that movie and I am dying to see it again or own the tape...
