Madhuri, Kajol, Karishma and Juhi are now married. They will work only in selective films. Raveena, Shilpa and Mahima are also not in the limelight. Tabu, Urmila, Manisha and Sushmita are only acting in off-beat films. Kareena and Bipasha are more known for their body exposures. Ash is a highly overrated actress.

Therefore, the true competition is now between Preity and Rani. Both are very good actresses. Preity has shown her capability in Sangharsh, Kyaa Kahnaa, Koi Mila Gayaa and Kal Ho Na Ho. On the other hand, Rani was good in Ghulaam, Saathiyaa and Chalte Chalte. They have acted together in Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karegaa and Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. So, there were enough opportunities already for comparing their acting capabilities.

Who, according to you, is a better actress and should be called the No. 1 right now?

  I think Rani is definitely the better actress always takin up harder roles and comparing them in Chori Chori... Rani was better plus Rani has a lot more hits than Preity does!

  Both the actresses are good in their styles of acting. It is not easy to compare the both. Somehow Preety has more live and bolder than Rani but in somecases Rani is better than Preety. So the comparison is not wasy

  I definitely think Preity is far better. She has a lot of talent and can go quite far, although in Kal Ho Na Ho, her emoting was not top-notch eg. one crucial, main scene with her and Shahrukh standing on the harbour, with her hand on his heart and 'crying' - didn't really work for me (that's when i started to think about Kajol playing her role - definitely would have portrayed the emotions with ease). With Rani, she's ok, again, emoting really needs work on and i think she's a little repetitive - Saathiya/Chalte Chalte. She should think about versatility/diversity in her roles rather than girl-next-door/teen film roles. Comparing these two actresses with Kajol, however...is like creating a sin!!

  Kajol was a revolution!!! No other actress can come near her. But unfortunately she did not realise her own potential!!!
  
  So, from what we have at present, Preity and Rani are the best.

  I reckon Preity is better than Rani coz she has charm, something Rani doesn't have much of. So yah. Either way, they almost evenly matched, with Preity topping the ranks!

  RANI IS GREAT! SHE CAN ACT AND SHE IS VERY PRETTY. I ALSO LIKE PREITY , BUT NOT THAT MUCH.   the truth is rani is the best becouse she is beutifull and she can play any roll the way director wanted her to do but here in nigeria most of the people only wanted to see rani to apear in the film on this i will say rani is the best.
