can you tell me a few places in chennai where they teach hindusthani instrumental music?

you can try pandit janardhan - a disciple of ravisankar- who plays the sitar.you can also be looking out for hindusthani programs conducted by an organisation called Viswakalasangama in the engagements section of The Hindu.The crowds that gather for such concerts are not very big and has a fair sprinkling of accompanying artists sitting in the audience.
I am not sure of the instrument of your choice.but in case it is the violin, you may not have to look beyond the parur family-ms anantharaman and ms gopalkrishnan.
