Friends

We like listening music for hours.
We spend hours hearing our favourite musician.
Why do we like a particular musician more than anyone else?
We may have our own reasons to justify our liking.
Please share your views in this forum as to why you
like him/her best? What aspect of your favourite musician
attracts you most to him/her. Please come forward and
write something so that everyone can see it and compare
one's views with that of others.

  I use to hear music as much as I can, time permits.
  I like the music of M D Ramanathan (MDR) above all others.
  Why I like him most. Not an easy thing to explain.
  When he sings you realise that he is singing just for you.
  Soon you fall into the magical spell of that. You close
  your eyes. MDR touches the soft corners of your heart.
  He is not hurry. He gives enough time for you to enjoy
  all the nuance of any ragam. He pronounces the lyrics
  correctly. He never sings anything without knowing the
  meaning of any word. Above all MDR sings for himself.
  He enjoys his singing. (Sorry for having written everything
  in the present tense. He still lives in the hearts of a lot
  of connoisseurs of music, never fading away. Still sings,
