should all of us start a forum on the virtues of reading? it will help us see varied aspects of books. not all of us relate to any said book in the same way. we could widen our horizon by looking at it in possible ways. please reply so we can begin.

  modern english novelists are mere pseudo artists. can you name a single one who can be compared with the likes of saramago, marquis and grass. if there is one writer in modern times who can be said a true master thats is jose saramago. the word "unique" finds its true meaning in his 9 or 10 novels, starting from "baltasar and blimunda", "manual of caligraphy and writing", "life of death of recardo reis", "stone raft", "history of siege of lisbon", "unknown island, "blindness", "all the names", and the latest" "the cave". so friends open your eyes and look beyond english and i'm sure you are going to see a different but exciting world, the culmination of human imagination and intellect.
