Self-Publishing for New Writers

The greatest difficulty faced by new writers is finding a publisher. Or even finding an agent. It is a classic Catch-22 situation: No publisher or agent will look seriously at the work of a new writer until he/she is published, but he/she cannot get published in the first place unless a publisher or agent will look seriously at the work! One way to surmount this problem is to launch a publishing company just for new writers of merit. I have done this in Canada with my own non-profit self-publishing firm, NEW WRITERS PUBLISHING VENTURES. I help new writers by examining their work --fiction/non-fiction/ prose/poetry (in English) -- and if it seems to have merit, doing the editing, organizing and type-setting so as to get it copy-ready for printing. In some cases, I guide new writers through the process of developing their work. At the end, I arrange for the printing (high quality at low cost) and guide them through the marketing process. All of this is a NON-PROFIT VENTURE.

I am a retired English teacher and school administrator in Canada (of Indian origin - born in Madurai, in fact) and have undertaken this as a mission to encourage new writers. I have published 2 books: (1)ETERNALLY YOURS, a collection of romantic and love poems of my own, and (2)LIVING HAPPINESS, a practical guide to achieving Happiness in everyday life.

if you know of others who are doing this kind of publishing service, I would like to know about them so that we may co-ordinate the process on a larger scale.
