I am reading Marquez' Love@ the time of Cholera now. Simply fascinated by the novel. Your opinion/review of this & Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude?

A friend of mine recently received a forwarded e-mail with 14 file attachments. The first was a picture of Marquez and his name. Then, each of the following had a number at the top (1-13) and below each was a phrase or saying, most of them about love. I have been trying to figure out where it came from...whether it is a poem by Marquez or maybe the beginning of each chapter in a book? I really have no idea, but I would love to find it. Can anyone help me?

I was living in a different world all along while reading " one hundred years of solitude". Its magic realism at its height. One should read this book first before reading any other works of Marques.

Marquez. Okay this thread is kinda old but I just got here so forgive me.
100 years of Solitude probably wasn't the most encapsulating book I have ever read, especially when I read it on par with Coetze and Rushdie and some others (I was doing a Postmodern and Postcolonial module in Uni). It is, however, very distinctively unique, and an experience worth the while. Look out for things like Magic Realism (read it up if you dunno what it is), deliberate, absurd inconsistencies (i.e. someone not dying for like .. forever) and of course, Modernism and its effects.
Have a good time. =P

Atentamente,
Vanessa Gómez-Pastrana López

BUSCO UNA FRASE QUE GABRIEL GARCIA MARQUEZ DIJO ACERCA DE LAS ARMAS. MAS O MENOS DICE QUE CON TODO EL DINERO QUE SE HA GASTADO EN ARMAMENTO SE PODRÍAN PERFUMAR LAS CATARATAS DEL NIAGARA.
EN QUE CONTEXTO LO DIJO O CUANDO? MIL GRACIAS
