Talking about the movie, everyone will discuss about Devane ennai parungal only but IMO, this song is unique and touch of class by Mellisai Mannar


I felt something different when I first heard this(before watching the scene). I got surprised when I saw the song sequence. Picturised in the night with rain back ground. Mellisai mannar reflected the mood even in orchestra . class singing by PS madam (especially when she humms in the interlude).Terrific song.

Through the flute & the violin background, MSV gives a drizzling impact to the listeners ! The tune, the interludes , the usage of instruments were all used as per the situation warranted !

What a creativity of that man MSV.

I can strongly argue "this great creator did not get proper recognition for his talents and achievements he rendered for Tamil Cine music. The bloody selection committee of the Idian Government never selected him for 'Best Music Director' for any year. The bloody Indian Government also not selected him for a "Padmashree Award" till now.

You have pointed out exactly what I try to say but could not express it correctly. I have mentioned in my earlier message saying "MSV REFLECTED THE MOOD". Since charactor is christian and MSV even considered that and mixed nicely in the song.

Yes it is pain when someone says MGR song/Sivaji song but we cannot help it . His creativity speaks even today and it will be there for ever. I am happy that we are living with this LEGEND.

I found the song Manamedai very unique and a diff. composition style adopted by Mellisai Mannar ! And after listening once, I couldnt resist my temptation to listen again and again !
Thanks for the nice analysis of the song !

But see, such songs , I bet , very few of the current lot will be aware of . :cry: And I can tell you , if such a type of song is composed by any composer of today, he would have demanded a huge sum .

Dear friends, today is a milestone for me here. Yes, we are going to cover the 100th song of MSV today ! and I feel thrilled to announce so , being an ardent IR fan . My amazement and admiration towards MSV sir grows every day as I come across more and more of his songs ! Beyond doubt, he is an incomparable genius whose compositions are God's gift to tamil music.

Now, to chose an appropriate song for the 100th number, I had to break my head to pick as I realized that the ocean of MSV songs are too beautiful to shortlist , I managed to go back to VENNIRA AADAI and picked a song of PS Madam which I feel special

It seems MSV sir had tested the range of P.Susheela Madam to the maximum possible. Hear it and you will also vouch for me.

Every sentence has been stretched by PS.

For instance :

Ammammaaaaaaaa
Ammammaa katru vandhu aadai thottu paaadum

Poovaadai konda meni thannil aaasai vellam oodum
melaaaadai melaadai ... etc etc

Even the charanam is not spared by MSV. Every word gets extended by lengthy tune & lots of improvisation has been done by PS Madam.

As usual, the ever flowing melody prevails through the entire length of the song !

This movie IMHO is one exceptional composition like Karnan, Aayirathil oruvan etc .

Earlier we covered Enna enna varthaigalo .

The legend MSV continues to stun me with his humbleness and simplicity despite having achieved so much in life !

Yes I always use to say VENNIRA AADAI is something special from MSV. Unique composistion . Those who closely associated with MSV were lucky . GOLDEN DAYS. we missed it.

Nakeeran for this week end we should put MSV-LRE RARE DUET.

NEE NINAITHAL NERATHIYLE ETHATHO KIDAIKUM. Different style of singing from MSV. Jaishankar movie. You will definitely like this song.

The shivering humming from P.Susheela Madam is a clear message that something is wrong somewhere !
The preludes , the interludes join the humming & together create a feeling of restlessness & uneasiness !
Watching the movie , this tune, runs at regular intervals & being cleverly used by Sridhar as a joyful one and also to express loneliness & also as a ghost song :shock:
A multidimensional tune composed by the 2 masters

Whether its a PS solo or a PS - PBS duo , whatever you select, its a time immemorial song !

The duo seem to have read the core theme of the song requirement & had delivered in a mind blowing way .

Hats off to you dear Nakeeran for the milestone Dont relax. MSV's movies are around 600 ++ in tamil itself . On an average , around 3 songs atleast in a movie which means you have another 1700 to go !!

All the songs are my favourites as well including today's Nenjam marapadhillai which I had written about the song earlier .

Another different style of rhythm adopted by MSV-TKR for Puratchi Thalaivar movie ! A handsome MGR giving mild dance movements with Saroja Devi who looks absolutely gorgeous & majestic !

Kannai manamaligayil kaaval nirkavaa ?

Athipaza kannathile killi vidavaa ( when TMS sings this, it will look as if TMS himself has killified Saroja Devi )
