Song is so melting & melodious !

I havent seen the picturisation .

I dont know under which circumstances this song appears in the movie

Looks like a dream song as MSV sir's compo style looks like that .

Another song which runs very fast

For interludes he has used chorus which gives a delicate touch !

NALAAM NALAAM THIRUNAALAM ( KADHALIKKA NERAMILLAI )

Sometime back Mr. T.K.Ramamurthy played the prelude very casually ( remember he was incharge of violin section for C.R.Subbaraman before partnering with MSV ) .
Though the prelude has flute predominantly & violin, TKR's expertise over violin gave an impression as if the prelude was all violin !

Despite his advancing age, the enthusiasm was still there in him.
With dedication, he played the song .

Any song with MSV-TKR combo is like a treasure to be preserved !

I have seen the movie but though the song has no relevance ( not a situation song ) , still the creativity of MSV -TKR has resulted in another outstanding compo.

    singers : PBS-P.S.

Another song with very fast tempo.

This IMO should top the list of MSV classics

    A beauty of a song

Thanks once again TFML The link was nice & the picturisation was quite interesting. I was keen to see how the chorus was picturised. Well, it was indeed creative !

    Nakeeran

Later date so many MD's recycled it (MADHURAM NAGARIL)but none of them able to match the melody.

Famous critic SUBBUDU use to praise and quote about this song quite often(NALLAM NALLAM). Thanks for the PBS selections.

thanks to TFM lover for providing the link.

    regards

NENJATHILE NEE NETRU VANDHAI ( SHANTI )

Rarely we have heard songs with ONLY whistling as interludes .

This song is one such ! and when its coupled with a seductive voice of P.Susheela Madam, it gives a different feeling to connoisseurs of music

    Only flute comes occasionally .

The whistling is well contested by a PS humming

Talking about innovation , well Mellisai Mannar had done everything already it seems !

    MSV's treasure hunt expands everyday

IRUMANAM KONDA THIRUMANA VAAZVIL ( AVARGAL )

We have been covering some of MSV's compos of the 60s all these days .

I chose this song for a change which belongs to the 70s .

The formative years of Kamal had some outstanding tunes composed by MSV sir but the IR dominance during the 80s virtually had made all those precious songs of MSV to oblivion.

I had a lengthy argument some time back on this sad fact but we have with us few of those who appreciate the great talents of masters of yesteryears who had contributed in a SILENT manner.

This song could be one such

Another innovative song wherein Kamal ( SPB ) talks to his inner conscience but KB had made a beautiful doll as his manasatchi !

This movie has another class song which will feature soon

POOMALAYIL OR MALLIGAI ( OOTY VARAI URAVU )

If a music programme is to be conducted on Shivaji , this song will have to feature definitely

I have the DVD too & never fail to watch it atleast 1nce in a month

    Scintillating music !

Well, which one can I pick in this movie ?

So I thought about Shivaji's stylish walk and romance & posted this memorable one !

But mind you, there are some more to come out from this movie itself !

Should be part of TMS-PS evergreen hits

    Dear Nakeeran..

Whenever we think about "Poo maalaiyil Or malligai" song from Otty varai Uravu, automatically our mind will think another song "MuththukkaLO kangaL" from Nenjirukkum varai.

Both of them are the "songs of the Year 1967". Why they are still refreshing our mind?.

Because they were shot in Australia or in Newzealand..????.
    or
because they were shot in a big studio sets with artificial 'jigina' dresses....???.
    NO
But there is music...music... and nothing but music.

Hats off that great musician MSV.

You must see the picturisation of this song "Madura nagaril thamizh sangam".

Whenever I see this song, I will curse Dir.A.Bimsingh, why that man did not shoot it in coulour. Such a lovely piscturisation.

Muthuraman and Vijayakumari will be in Raja Rani costume and the song was shot in Mysore Brindhavan Gardens.

But when the chorus comes, he will lift the camera to the sky and show the 'thozhiar' will dance for the chorus in sky in between the clouds.

But Muthu & Viji will come to normal costume (full suit and saree), when the line starts

    "andha kaatchigaL maariyathu yenO
    nam kaathalai naam peraththaanO
    andha dheva magaL ivaL thaanO
    mannan thirumbavum vandhu viittaanO"

    Difinitely you should watch friend...
