One melody I could recollect from MSV during IR number... PROBABLY THIS MUST BE THE LAST FEW NUMBERS OF MSV ...

    In the movie. Janani...

    MANNIKA MAATAYAA UN MANAMIRANGI....

I love this song .... Very melodious..... Could be the last of the melodies of the legend MSV....

Happy to see him in small screen atleast with his usual cheer.....

I will have to recollect his own number with Kavignar...

UYARNDHA IDATHIL IRUKKUMBODHU ULAGAM UNNAI MADHIKUM...

UN NILAMAI KONJAM IRANGI VANDHAAL NIZALUM KOODA MIDHIKUM....

    Hi Everyone
I have gone through all the comments. very interesting.
MSV is trend setter in TFM. Very hard to believe when you hear VENNIRA ADAI songs were composed 35 to 40 years back. I saw some new play back singer interview recently. She said her favourite comoser is MSV( I think she may be around 20) and she got thrilled about talking PS songs in VENNIRA ADAI.

As every one said we did not have cable TV/media hype/casssette release function etc but only Vivida bharathi&ceylon radio. Imagine live recording of ENNGAEY NIMMADHI/PATTHU RANI songs(those days we dont have track). You can see the quality even today with so much limitation. Balaji gave example from SURIYA GANDHI SONG but apt song for MSV is UNNENKANA MELLE NINRAI from SIMLA SPECIAL. He scored this album when IR was in peak.. One more all time favourite song KANNA KANNUM KANGAL MELLA from AGNI SATCHI. List goes on.

    regards

I forgot to mention that songs from the film ENGA MAMMA. You can see something different in orchestra. As mentioned by some one MSV did it way ahead. My friend (a guitarist) who use to play for light music troup for the past fifteen years always use to talk PONMGAL VANDHAAL song from SORGAM. He says it is unbelievable that MSV did this song in 60's.

Same way PS song from AVALAKKU ENRU ORU MANAM(SRIDHAR MOVIE) MALAR ETHU ENN KANGAL THAN ENNRU SOLVAYNADI. we cannot imagine that type orchestra in 60's.

    Dear Uma Ramesh.

Nice to see your valuable postings in several threads, especially about the past. I am glad to read them, because I am one of the devoted fans of MSV. I hope you have read the previous pages of those threads, because some of the songs you have mentioned are been already analysed in detail in previous pages by several hubbers, including me and Mr. Balaji. He is the nice one to share about the past.

Hope we will see your valuable postings often, with more informations you know, to share with all of us.

reagrds, saroo. (my face is in my avathar)

You forgot to add a great song from "avalukku Endru Oru Manam"
"Mangayaril Maharani" one of the best duest of SPB/PS was in that film, picturized on Gemini/Kanchana. If you listen closely, you will see SPB finding it difficult to pronounce 'LA" "LLA" as Kannadasan would have played with the words...

    Excellent Song!

You all forgot my favourite song by LRE in that movie:

    "Ellorum paarka... en ullaasa vaazhkai
    sarithaan ..po..po.. ini yen naanam
    kanneeril ennai..aada sollungal ellorin munne..."

fentastic composition with tremendous trumpet play by MSV.

    Hi
I think AVALKU ENDRU ORU MANAM is fantastic album with full of innovation. MSV tried PS &Spb in different style.

MSV gave selected songs to LRE. I think because of TMS-PS wave LRE songs are not very much appreciated.

Song mentioned Sharada is one more example. Listen here voice in
THULLUVATHU ILLAMI SONG (KUDIRUNTHA KOVIL). she even challenged TMS in that song.
